Two months later (February)

"Hey, watch it!" I muttered as somebody bumped into me. "Oh."

"Throwing my words back at me, I see." Chris chuckled, I found out from Tim that Chris Ryan was recently set free of Melissa's hands.

"Is this going to be a patterm?" I asked. "Us, bumping into each other?"

"No," Chris sighed, smiling. "I don't think we've officially met."

"Yeah, I don't recall meeting you officially." I rolled my eyes.

"Well," He said. "I'm Chris Ryan."

"I'm Jayne Brooklyn Noel." I answered.

"Pleased to meet you." He shook my hand,"Let me give you my number."

"I think I already have it." I pulled out my phone and showed him the texts I had received a couple of months ago. "Are you a stalker of some sort?"

"No," He smirked. "You're just to pretty not to be stalked. You're, by far, the best girl I've ever stalked."

"Oh great." I muttered, walking away.

"Jayne?" He called back.

I turned around, "Yes?"

"Would you like to come to a party this Saturday?" He smiled. "It's a study bash,"

"Can I bring friends?" I asked.

"I already invited Hayes Grier, he'll be the chick magnet. A douche from the old Magcon group." Chris looked away, with joking eyes. "So, you up for it?"

"I'm up for anything without you. Hayes Grier's not a douche," I paused. "He's just an asshole, but that's beside the point."

"I know you'll come." Chris said, as I walked away. "Hayes will drag you there, himself."
*****
"I'm not going." I shook my head.

"You're coming." Hayes said.

"You're not my keeper. I'll do as I please." I answered.

"No, you'll do as I say." Hayes commanded.

"Hey Hayes?" I asked. "You know that wishes don't always come true right?"

"Not all of them will, but this one will. You're coming."

"Ugh. Why?"

"Because Chris is a great guy."

"So?"

"Get over it, Jayne."

"Get over what?"

"I'm gonna set you up with Chris."

"No! What the hell? Hayes, I have a boyfriend."

"Yeah right."

"You know that."

"Jayne, forget Tim."

"I can't," I sighed.

"Just come."

"I'm not going."

"For hell's sake, it's a damn study bash!!"

"Keep that fucking voice of yours down. I'm not going."

"You'll see, Chris is a great guy. He doesn't cheat, he never cheated on Melissa even though she was a whore."

"He might be a great guy, but that doesn't mean I want to date him."

"Accept it Jayne. Tim is gone. He hasn't contacted you since January."

"Maybe he's just been busy."

"Yeah, right. Or he started banging up chicks and forgot about his teenage sweetheart."

"Stop. You don't know what you're talking about."

"Jayne, he left you. He's gone. Accept it."

"He's not gone."

"Jayne, all you two were was childhood sweethearts, nothing more."

"Wow, I was so stupid."

"Why?"

"I was stupid to think that you were one of my best friends. But I guess that's just childhood, right?"

Hayes stared at me dumbfounded. I ran into my dorm room and jumped on my bed. I looked at my watch. 2:30. One more hour until Chris's party.

I decided I would go.

"Jayne?" Hayes knocked on my door.

I opened the door after I had gotten ready for the party.

"Jay-Whoa." Hayes stared at me.

"What?" I snapped.

"I thought you weren't coming." He said.

"Well, I am so deal with it." I muttered.

"I'm sorry, about what I said," Hayes sighed.

"It's okay, and maybe you're right." I answered. "Maybe I should build a bridge and get over it."

"Well, we have a party to get to." Hayes smiled. "Abs is at Ara's dorm, we'll swing by and pick them up."

"Great." I smiled.

"You'll be fine, Chris throws the best parties."
