Dear Reader,
You're about to read the reboot of my very first BTS fanfic.
It's a monster of a fic exploring BTS from pre-debut to how far they've gotten in their career. It's a member x reader story with original characters in the mix, and what I hope is a good time.
I first released this on July 30, 2019 at the peak of one of the most stressful points of my career. I had just left my job and closed the company I'd built that ran for six years. Writing Miss Managed helped me have something to look forward to as I transitioned out of one of my unhappiest eras. I wrote over 10,000 words every week, religiously publishing every Saturday on Tumblr. But in November, I began to dip. And before Christmas, I'd encountered three traumatic trips to the emergency room in a span of three weeks.
And to think, all this was followed by a pandemic where I lost the work I had left my old career for. But this is not to complain. This is to prove to you that I've become well enough to heal. So if you too are in a difficult place, I hope Miss Managed is a reminder that things always get better. I pray this fictional piece of BTS' rise to success is a sign of hope whenever you feel like there's no way out.
Sometimes, the only real way out is through.
To me, this fanfic is a beloved one, because after more than a year of so much hard work to be better and heal from what I believed broke me, I was able to bring back to life one of my deepest sources of joy and creative fulfillment: writing.
What you are about to read is a piece from my own heart. A fan fic that granted me the chance to get through my hard times, build enriching friendships online with complete strangers, and find my voice again.
My sincere hope is that, if you're willing, you would become a friend too somehow, or maybe find a friend to bond with over this story. And if by chance this story doesn't resonate with you, I hope you do find the stories that lift, excite, embrace, and thrill you. I'm thankful either way that you even opened my pages.
When I put Miss Managed on hiatus in November 2019, I didn't expect I'd only come back to earnestly work on continuing it in January 2020. It was only then, upon re-reading my work that I realized I no longer sounded the same. This is why, instead of continuing the original I'd posted on my Tumblr, I chose to edit through it and re-write in my new voice.
Should you finish this until it's most recent chapter, I hope you take the time to check out my other work on my profile. I'm sure I'll be uploading shorter stories while this one is running.
This fic is PRE-COMPLETED. This means that I've already written and finished the entire thing. For purposes of transparency, I chose to still upload weekly because both the WP and AO3 platforms seem to favor frequency of upload.
