Ella was in Liverpool for a while since Chelsea had their winter break between the first and second legs of their EFL semi final against Tottenham, the first of which had been 4 days ago so since Trent wasn't on a break yet she had decided to go see him for a while

The Liverpool team had travelled to Brighton for their match so Ella had decided to stay at Trent's family's house for the game so she could spend more time with them

Dianne and Ella had spent their day out shopping in Liverpool before coming home and settling on the living room sofa for the 4pm kick off of Liverpool vs Brighton

Ella knew Trent was nervous about this match after Liverpool's recent bad form since the team was still desperate to stay in the title race against Man City and winning today would keep them within 3 points of City

And Ella did like to constantly remind Trent how if she hadn't beat City in December then Liverpool would be trailing by more points now

The match was definitely not an easy one though, Liverpool had clearly expected Brighton to be an easy team to beat and Ella could tell they were shocked at how hard Brighton were pushing to win

But this just made Liverpool work harder too

The match remained at 0-0 until half time, with both sides having had very close chances in the first half

And then in the 50th minute Salah scored from the penalty spot to make it 1-0 to Liverpool and Ella smiled inside as she watched her boyfriend perk up and enjoy himself more during the game

Trent's game quickly went downhill in the 70th minute though when Locadia from Brighton had been chasing him down the right and to stop Trent crossing the ball to Salah, he went for a slide tackle that smashed into Trent's left ankle

Ella sat up sharply on the sofa as she watched her boyfriend go to the floor, clutching his ankle in pain and she could just tell from the grimace on his face that it was going to be a proper injury

The Liverpool medics rushed over to him and attempted to massage it and stretch it before pulling Trent to his feet to see if he could support himself on it but as Trent pushed his foot to the ground, he immediately lifted it back up as pain shot up his leg

Ella watched with a heavy heart as they helped Trent hobble off the pitch and take him down to the medical room. Of course she wanted to text or call him but she knew Klopp kept their phones away from them during matches so he wouldn't answer anyway

"He'll be okay," Dianne assured the young girl who simply nodded with a hopeful smile as she waited for the final whistle to blow

When it eventually did Ella pulled out her phone and pressed on the call icon next to Trent's name. She got up from the sofa and headed up to Trent's room, knowing full well if Marcel or Tyler heard her being worried about him they would take the mick out of her for weeks

The phone line rang a few times before it finally connected "Hello?" Trent's tired voice came through the other end

"Bub are you okay?" Ella asked immediately "Your mum and I were watching and I saw you get tackled, that guy should've been given a bloody red card for that-"

"Love," Trent interrupted, chuckling as he heard how worried she was "I'm fine, it's not as bad as it felt at first, they said I'll be out for a few weeks but it's not broken or anything, just twisted,"

"Okay good," She breathed a sigh of relief "Well I want you back on the pitch asap so the second you get back here I don't want you on that foot at all,"

"You don't have to look after me," Trent said although he was in fact smiling

"I'm going to so shut up and deal with it," Ella replied and Trent let out a laugh, she was definitely the most stubborn person he had ever met but it was a trait of hers he adored

Trent pulled his phone away from his ear to quickly hear something Klopp was telling the team and when he was done, he quickly went back to his girlfriend on the phone "I've gotta go now, babe, but I'll be back tomorrow morning okay? I love you,"

"I love you too," Ella replied and she hung up with a smile.

Ella and Trent's family had a nice dinner that evening and then Ella curled up in Trent's bed, wearing one of his shirts which covered her all the way down to her mid thighs like a dress

Ella had been so sleepy that she managed to sleep through the night in a deep sleep, not even waking up when the whole family was making noise as Trent arrived home

Trent had been anticipating seeing his girlfriend coming outside with his parents and brothers and was disappointed to see that she wasn't there

"she's upstairs sleeping, honey," Dianne told her son who blushed at being caught looking for her, but Trent walked past his brothers teasing and headed up to his bedroom where he knew his girlfriend would be sleeping

Sure enough when he crept into his room he was greeted by the sight of Ella asleep in his bed, wearing his shirt

Trent smiled and slowly limped over to his bed, he took off his shoes and gently pulled back the covers enough for him to slip into the bed behind her, wrapping his arms around her middle to pull her back against his chest

"Trent?" Ella mumbled tiredly

"Go back to sleep, babe," Trent whispered and pressed a kiss to her hair, Ella hummed in reply and drifted back off to sleep easily

Trent loved spending his days playing for his childhood club, but nothing beat the feeling of coming home to his girlfriend and because of how few times they got to do this, it made it even more special to him to do this

Dianne had made a beautiful lunch for her family and Tyler, Marcel and her husband were already sat down eating but the two footballers were nowhere in sight so she made her way upstairs to Trent's room and pushed the door open

But inside the young couple were still asleep, Trent spooning Ella and burying his head into her shoulders. Dianne smiled to herself at the sight of her son so in love and content with the girl in his arms
