*Gilbert*
"Gil! Time for dinner!" My mom called down from the kitchen.
"Ok! Coming!" I hollered back. I walked upstairs, my phone in my
hands, I was staring at the screen intently.
I sat at the table, and was some what paying attention to my meal. It
wasn't like a normal family dinner. It was only me, mom, Emily, and
Dylan.
I wasn't even paying attention to the table conversation.
"What is he doing?" Emily asked annoyed.
"He hasn't been off that thing for two weeks." Mom pointed out.
Dylan leaned over my shoulder to see what I was doing.
"He's texting his bae." He said, meaning for me to get upset.
"What's a bae?" My mom asked.
"A girlfriend." Dylan replied, leaning over my shoulder more.
I was expecting my mom to get upset, considering I wasn't allowed to
date until I was sixteen. Well, it's not like me and Hazel are dating
anyway... We just love each other to death, and wish we were.
"That's funny," mom started, "Gilbert has a girlfriend before you." She laughed.
"What the hell." Dylan said, obviously really mad.
"Wait... So you don't care if I have a girlfriend or not?" I asked.
"No." Mom said laughing, putting her dishes in the sink and walking out.
Dylan was pretty pissed, so he went to go watch football. Emily went
to go do whatever it is that Emily does, and I ran down to my room to
talk to Hazel.
Me: Guess what!?!?
Hazel: What???
Me: I just talked to my mom, and she does not care if we're together
Hazel: What?!?!?
Me: She said it was ok if I have a girlfriend
Hazel: Well... I'm not your girlfriend.
Me: What??
Hazel: You never asked me.
Me: Oh. Will you be my girlfriend?
Hazel: NO!!!!!!!! You can NOT ask me over text, or the answer is no!!!!
Me: Ok. On my way.
I was spending the night at Josh's tonight, so I biked over to Hazel's place, but I didn't go in. Holy
mud cakes, I was about to ask her to be my girlfriend. This was huge. I didn't know
what to say.
I quickly pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil, then I grabbed my
phone. I was going to call Sam and ask what to say.
