My fingers slowly dance their way across the payphone, dialing in a perfectly memorized number. Ringing fills my ear for an uncomfortable amount of time. Maybe he's out? Or their phone is broken. I should just hang up now, I-

"Hey, Maximoff residence."

I swallow hard. "Um...Hi. It's Elle."

"Elle? I saw you on the TV!" He says. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm alright."

I hear him sigh. "Good. I mean, it would have seriously sucked to lose you right after we come up with super cool matching names."

My heart sinks at his words.

"About that...W-what have you been up to, Quicksilver?" I try my best to joke around.

He takes a moment to respond. "My mom and I were actually talking...about your dad."

"Yeah, he um-He messed up bad." I say in a shaky voice.

"Well, yeah but that's not exactly what I meant." Peter starts. "My mom, she told me...he's my dad too."

I nearly drop the phone. "W-what?"

"It all makes sense now," he says. "How we found each other, became friends but never...you know. Elle, we're siblings."

"No," my voice breaks. "No, we're not. Erik's not my dad."

"Elle-"

"I'm sorry Peter but...I'm not going back. We shouldn't see each other again." I say, tears threatening to spill down my face.

"Wait! Elle, what's wrong?"

I stare at the phone. "It's not good for us to be together, Peter. I just-I don't want to speak to you anymore. Never again."

"Estelle! Hold on. Let's talk about thi-"

I slam down the phone, not being able to continue the conversation. If I had...I know I would have listened to him. He would have convinced me to go back home and then-

"Are you okay, Estelle?"

I turn around to see Hank watching me.

I look up at him. "H-how long have you been standing there?"

"I didn't mean to listen in," Hank says. "I just heard you crying and thought-"

I cut him off. "It's okay, I get it."

We look at each other for a second, both of us knowing what question is lingering in the air.

"What did you mean?" Hank starts. "When you said Erik wasn't your dad."

"He's not. Um...apparently someone else is my father."

A look of recognition seems to run over his face. "Does he know?"
