"Bang Hae if you don't hurry up I'm leaving you here!" Her brother called from the bottom of the stairs for the third time, starting to get impatient.

Hae rushed to her room to grab her bag and practically sprinted down the stairs, careful to not snap her ankle or fall and bust her head, "Sorry Crispy I lost track of time," she apologized while jumping into Chan's truck.

He rolled his eyes playfully at his little sister, "Let me guess, you were reading, got consumed in the plot per usual and when you finally looked up to fangirl, be dramatic, or cry you happened to see the time and flew out of bed to get ready," Chan guessed.

"Ok FIRST of all it's a really good book and second yes that's exactly what happened but there's no reason to come for me like that." She defended, slightly embarrassed she was so predictable,"And I'll have you know that even though I lost track of time I still pulled myself together in time for you to still be early for your stupid basketball game so I can be a nerd but still functional."

He glanced at her and his eyebrows raised," Hence the fact you're wearing two different tennis shoes and your hoodie is inside out and backwards." He commented, trying his best not to laugh.

Hae looked down at herself and sure enough she had one white and one black shoe and her hoodie was not on correctly. She slapped Chan's arm and scoffed ,"I'll have you know that I'm starting a trend." She was definitely not starting a trend but in no world would she let her brother be right.

Now he actually laughed, "Alright, yeah sure. Good luck with that."

When they got to the school Hae immediately went to go fix her hoodie and just decided to pray no one noticed her mixed-matched tennis shoes.

After changing she hurried to the gym and started looking around for Ora who had just moved to their school the week before and had asked if Hae would sit with her at the basketball game so she wouldn't be by herself. Hae didn't mind, her best friend Mika couldn't come anyways and she would much rather get to know the new girl than sit alone.

Once she spotted the happy faced girl up in the bleachers she made her way through the masses of high schoolers and hopped into the seat beside Ora. That was the thing about Ora, she was always happy, perky, positive, and every other word that meant the opposite of negative.

"Hi! How are you?" Ora asked with a big smile, she was one of the most naturally gorgeous girls Hae had ever met with her joyful sea green eyes and always done red-dyed hair. According to Ora her original hair was dirty blonde but she had dyed it red right before she moved. "Some of my old 'friends' called me kool-aid head but I like it." She had informed Hae. Ora had an oddly cute voice that was higher than most people's but somehow it suited her.

"It's super cute, and you don't look like a kool-aid head just so you know." Hae assured her. Before they could talk anymore, people around them started yelling and cheering, signaling that the game was starting.

As the she was looking for Chan, Hae noticed a boy she hadn't seen before on the court. He was cute, no doubt about it, but what really caught her attention was the way his face just lit up when he had the ball, it didn't matter if he messed up, if he had the ball his eyes just shone with pure happiness.

He wasn't the best on the team but he played like he thought he was. "He's pretty cocky for a new boy," She thought to herself ,"Hopefully he's not rude and entitled or else I won't hear the end of rants about it from Chan."

"I wonder what his name is." She accidentally wondered out loud, while leaning forward and propping her arm on her knee.

Ora looked over at her,"Which one?" Hae pointed towards the mystery boy who was now on the bench with his undivided attention on the game,"Oh him, that's Jisung, my brother."

Hae's eyes widened," That's your brother?" Ora had said she had an older brother but she looked nothing like him so it took Hae by surprise. She now felt embarrassed for staring at her new friend's brother practically the whole time.

The red head laughed,"Yeah I know we don't look alike at all. They adopted me from America when I was a newborn which is why I look American but have a Korean name." she explained.

"Oh ok, that's cool." Hae had been wondering what Ora's ethnicity was but she hadn't wanted to overstep by asking. She turned back to the court only for her eyes to land on Chan waving up at her with Jisung by his side.

The boys jogged up the steps to the spot where the girls were now standing and Chan pulled Hae into a crushing hug ,"Did you see that three pointer I made?" He exclaimed excitedly, pride filling his voice.

Even though he was seemingly amazing at everything, Chan had never been very confident in himself so Hae was happy he was proud of at least one accomplishment," Yeah! It was so cool you did awesome!" She encouraged ,"Now stop hugging me you're literally disgusting." She pushed him away while wrinkling her nose, repulsed by the overwhelming smell filling her nostrils.

That earned a chuckle from Jisung who now looked over at her. Ora looked from Jisung to Hae before seemingly remembering something,"Oh right. Jisung, this is my friend Hae I was telling you about and Hae, this is my idiotic sibling Jisung."

Jisung rolled his eyes and held out his hand,"Nice to meet you, thanks for putting up with my sister even though she sounds like a chipmunk."

Hae chuckled,"Says you, you literally look like a squirrel," she pointed out, gesturing to Jisung's face.

Ora burst out laughing and Jisung scowled,"I do NOT look like a squirrel," He grumbled, crossing his arms,"I just have baby fat still left in my cheeks, it will go away as I get older," He recited as if he had memorized something his mom had told him.

"Mhmm yeah sure," Hae teasingly replied ,"Anyways, you did played pretty well today for it being your first game with the team. Good job."

At this Jisung's face broke into a huge, bright gummy smile,"Thanks!" Hae decided right then and there that she definitely liked his smile. After introducing Ora to Chan and chatting for a while Jisung spoke up," Ok Ora, we gotta go. It was nice to meet you Hae, bye Chan see you at practice!" He called as him and Ora made their way out of the gym.

"Bye Hae, bye Chan! See you at school!" Ora shouted, waving frantically until they both waved back, laughing at the girl's energy.

"They're both really nice." Hae commented, her mind for some reason still replaying Jisung's beautiful smile.

Chan smiled," Yeah they really are." He agreed.

Little did Hae know, that was the beginning of a three year, agonizingly long, roller coaster of a crush on Han Jisung.
