Inclusive

I was told to focus on one thing at a time.
I did.

When I was young,
I focused on learning the lessons, topping the class.

One day, I realised, I didn't have friends.

So, I found myself friends and forgot lessons.

And when I tried to focus back on my lessons, friendship, courtships seemed a threat.

I became a recluse.

Now, came the youth, flooding my body and mind.

I tasted fear, sorrow, betrayal and abandonment.

I turned depressed. All the happiness of the world seemed to me, a pretence.

Once the blue glass broke down, I felt love, warmth and mirth. Now, all the sorrows turned into a worthless facade.

At length, I came at the truth. Life is inclusive. It includes all. Studies, friendships, family, work, love, hatred, betrayal, loyalty, union, separation.

I can't focus on one thing at a time. I can't deny the existence of another while experiencing the other. It's a hollow endeavour to which I need to put an end to. I need to accept that life is made of all and I'm supposed to feel it all without prejudice.
