Hiya, before we get started I wanna say a huge thank you for 500K! That's half a bloody million Jesus Christ, yall are insane. I love you all. If anyone has any ideas as to what I could do as a 500K special, lemme know! I was thinking maybe a face reveal but I did one ages ago in my first book, but tbh I don't know who actually saw it, and it occurred to me a few of my readers are in the discord so they know what I look like too... Might do one anyway though :)

MCYT: Eret

Minecraft or Irl: Minecraft

Type: Flirty

Pronouns: She/Her (but they're not really used)

Notes: Y/N=Your Name. Also, fun little fact, the Kingdom ruled by Dream you come from, Noctis, translates directly from Latin as "Nightmare".

Premise: Royalty AU. Part two of the King in the North oneshot.

Once again, inspired by book 4 in Lillianna1125's Phantasm series, Gladius.

Trigger warnings: Swearing, and also if you happen to be lilyann914 getting your standards for romance raised too high lol

Y/N's POV

Days of negotiations blended into one, and soon enough, Punz and I had been in Qui Allora for a week. I hadn't spoken to Eret about the ballroom affair, electing to keep a professional relationship with him. As my advisor kept reminding me, we were here on strict business. Or I told myself we were keeping a professional relationship. It was painfully obvious both of us yearned to iron out a few things, but instead of actually talking, the King and myself communicated through staring at the other until they noticed, and looking away very quickly.

Out of negotiations, we only really saw each other in passing. On the stairs, in the garden, at dinner. It had come to my attention Eret had begun to deliberately double back claiming to have forgotten something, just at the chance to greet me again. I didn't pull him up on it, finding it rather endearing. But we'd have to have to a real conversation soon.

Life went on.

The request for aid had been accepted almost immediately, with only slight deliberation from the Allorian side as they did the necessary check ups on weapons and military. The prolonged talks however, were of how to pull off such an operation. Pure numbers might only just sway the favour our way, but a deep rooted betrayal from inside L'manberg's ranks would likely tip it towards a victory. Eret himself had volunteered to do the task, but had been met with heavy resistance from both political and military advisors. Recent talks had merely been of the King ignoring the advice of those he trusted to counsel him, insisting it would be more convincing to show passion about a cause if someone in a position of power came into play. Not a foot soldier. Personally, I didn't have an issue with Eret taking on the role, meaning I would likely get to work more closely with him, something I could hardly complain about.

He was fascinating, if not a little confusing. I'd picked up on a few details throughout all the court proceedings, from the way he pushed up his sunglasses almost methodically, despite them never slipping. That was what intrigued me most. What was behind those glass that needed such desperate hiding.

"Court adjourned!" I breathed a sigh of relief. The past few hours had been an intolerable slog through figures and military tactics, all of which I had drilled into my head from living in Noctis, which was renowned as a heavy military Kingdom. Besides me, Punz looked similarly joyous about the meeting end, sidling over to me once he'd finished his notes.
