After swearing to tell the truth, Peter was questioned.

"Dr. Hammond, could you tell all of us here today how you know the Carters?"

"Well, I've been a family friend for quite some time now. And I'm the only doctor, that I know of, they've trusted."

"And can you tell us why you believe that Mr. and Mrs. Carter would abuse their child? Is it because you're jealous considering the fact that you liked Mrs. Carter some time back and wished that you were with her today?"

"OBJECTION!"

"Sustained. This is not what we're here for, Mr. Davis. Please keep it professional and focus on the problem at hand."

"Yes sir, your honor. Dr. Hammond, can you tell me what you saw the day you were called to the Carter residence?"

"Well, what I noticed first was medium sized puddles of blood on the floor in front of their den area."

"And what did you do or say? Did you ever ask where the blood had come from?"

"No, I was only there for one job."

"So what motive did you have behind reporting them to Ms. Hammond? And might I add, Ms. Hammond is also your sister, correct?"

"Yes she is my sister. And I notified her of the incident when I saw the state that child was in."

"Would you care to explain, sir? What state exactly was she in?"

"Well for starters, her ribs were broken and bruised. From the tests I ran, it showed that they had been that way for a while. And then she had bruising around her neck, more like finger prints, and her arms and legs were covered in even more bruises. And might I add, some of them were still swelling at the time."

"Did you ask Mr. or Mrs. Carter what had happened before you assumed, Dr. Hammond?"

"I did not. They had told me right away that she was "playing rough" with some kids from the neighborhood."

"And why do you have any doubt of that, Dr. Hammond?"

"Well, for starters, they're the only young couple that lives in the area. And I've recently moved closer to the area myself, never did I see any other children. And from what I've heard, Anovah is never allowed outside herself."

Knowing that's true, Mr. Davis began to panic. And if no one else noticed, Amarah and Novah's personal lawyer most definitely did.

"No further questions, your honor."

Walking up to ask questions now was Novah's lawyer, Micheal Ross. He's know for getting children out situation(s) such as the one Novah's in now.

"Your honor, I would like to call to the stand Mr. Carter."

Walking up, Clarence was visibly nervous. After swearing to tell the truth, his questions came.

"Mr. Carter. Can you tell me how old your daughter is?"

"Yes. She's two."

"And how often does Anovah get to be a child, sir? How often does she get to do childlike things?"

"Well, Novah is in the house most of her time because of how small she is. My wife and I don't trust her around other children."

When Clarence finished his sentence, his heart dropped. And Bianca's eyes widened. Their lawyer then knew, they had been stumped.

"But sir, did your wife not say Novah was playing rough with other kids when she'd gotten hurt?"

Not knowing what lie to tell, Clarence tried to cover up his lie.

"Well, sir, we don't let her around a lot of kids. But we do make sure she gets to experience the child life."

"But, Mr. Carter. You just stated that you and Mrs. Carter do not trust her with other kids. What changed in a matter of seconds?"

"OBJECTION!"

"Over ruled. Answer the question, Mr. Carter."

"Well, umm-uh- sir. She plays with some kids."

"I see. No further questions, your honor."

After another 15 minutes of Clarence getting questioned, it was now Mr. Ross's turn to question Bianca. After she walked up the the stand and swore to tell the truth, her questioning began. But, there was a twist.

"Mrs. Carter, how would you describe your relationship with your baby girl?"

"We're really close. I love that little girl with all of my heart."

Scoffing, Amarah shook her head in disappointment at the lies that are already starting.

"Right. Is that why you were caught on the body cam of the officers saying, and I quote, "And Anovah, I'm beating your ass when you come back home, you little bitch."?"

"OBJECTION! Where is the evidence, your honor?"

"Ahh why it's right here."

Just then, the little courtroom television set turned on, and the body cam footage played. And sure enough, there was Bianca, yelling and spewing curse words at the cops and Anovah, as well as hitting a female officer after trying to do the same to Amarah.

Now, they knew for sure they wouldn't win.
