"What do you know about sirens?"

Her question was running through my mind. But why did she ask me such a question?

"Um ... we talked about them the day you came to my house." I replied hesitantly. "They are powerful creatures who looks like mermaids, protect the oceans and have the ability to open gates between worlds." Basically they were ... you said that they no longer exist >>

"Yes, the truth is that I said it ..." she said "But this is not just their story." Now she was looking me in the eyes and turning one book towards me. "Sirens are ancient creatures that lived in the oceans of Atlantis. People respected and loved them as they protected their maritime borders. However, this does not mean that they were not a little afraid of them ... >>

"But why?" I interrupted her but she continued her story

"Apart from Atlantis, they loved to spend their time in the Earth's oceans, before turning into the way you met them."

<< As you know ... every living being has its weaknesses. So do the sirens ... Once a month, the power of the full moon drove these creatures crazy and pushed them to the extremities, bringing to the surface their animal instincts. So in order not to harm anyone, the sirens on each full moon went into ditches in the depths of the ocean and hid from the moonlight. >>

"When you say animal instincts ... what do you mean?" I asked strangely

"The full moon affected the sirens' minds and made them desperately want to feed. When a siren comes of age, that is, reaches the age of 19, then these instincts awaken. Before that, there is a transitional period of one year, from 18 onwards, when their "magic song" is activated. Each siren has its own unique song and when it comes time to hunt. then in herds, they join their voices in a magical and hypnotic melody. The fact that all this happens after 18 does not mean that the full moon does not affect sirens throughout their life. It just doesn't drive them crazy in the early stages >>

"Ok... playing the moon like this with the minds of sirens is not nice but it is not so tragic. I mean ... they just want to be fed! >> I commented

"With whatever and whoever they find ..." added Mrs. Faragonda. "The sirens were very dangerous these nights. That's why they were hiding. >>

"So the legends about them on Earth ... are true?" I asked in shock.

"Unfortunately it is true," she replied sadly. ''As I told you, over the years and the disappearance of the earth fairies, because of the wizards of the dark circle, people stopped believing in magic and began to fear anything supernatural that existed. One day, some young sirens were playing in the shallows of a creek in the Indian Ocean and were spotted by villagers. They armed themselves and when they got close enough they killed them all, tying their corpses to poles outside their port to scare the pirates and the rest of their species. This phenomenon did not go unnoticed by the sirens and unfortunately for the villagers, that night had a full moon. Dozens of sirens rang out in the shallows and began to sing a song that attracted men into the water while killing women by piercing their ears. When the men were close enough to them, they devoured them, thus taking revenge on their little ones. Only 2 people from all over the village survived and carried the news to nearby states. No one believed them in the beginning. However, once a month, the missing sailors changed their minds. The sirens, after that night, return to earth on every full moon to feed, singing to the unsuspecting sailors, attracting them with their ethereal beauty and their magical voice. Actually, they WERE returning ... before Valtor. >> and she showed me the pictures from the pages of the books.
