19: Buried Sentiments

7 1 1

The roar love once was

Is now but a quiet buzz

Melodies once giving comfort

Now give no heart
-----

The intangible enchantment of Mozart

That tugged at the strings,

Such divine art;

Give way to tenebrous thoughts

Feelings confessed are lost
-----

Succulent and rich, golden marigolds

Now fail to predict what the future holds

Secrets sharp and sentimental, buried

Thousand of leagues under the earth

Catacombs their sanctuary, cold and

Rigid with dearth
-----

New love will be ignorant

Like the scents of a blueberry patch;

A cottage built on buried sentiments

Will cause feelings to latch
-----

Still youth holds on to her heart's

remnants

Still lacking of self acceptance

Hopeful that there will be a new batch

And perhaps a new match
