17: Old Love

7 3 3

The leaves have left the tree

The rain has no memory of the sky,

Abandonment is everywhere I see

And yet I can't seem to bid goodbye.
----

I cupped the old love in my hand

And bowed down one last time,

You never seemed to understand

We were walking a very thin line.
----

In my gallery you were a painting

Now you've been taken down.

In my playlist you were a song

Now the storage has run out.
----

We were not two halves

But two full moons,

Couldn't survive the aftermath

Now we're both fools.
----

You were my beginning

You're still my dawn,

I thought we were brimming

Now we're just dead leaves on a lawn.
