"Hi I've been sober for almost a month now and I feel better," I said looking down at the little coin in my hand.

It's been a month since everything happened and well since then everything went downhill, I now live with my mom full time and I barely see my dad and siblings. I can't lie and say I don't miss them but I feel freer I can now do whatever I want without being judged and controlled

"How does that make you feel?" Lydia asked
"I can't explain it but I feel free."

"Well I hope you stay sober Shaniyah you are such a beautiful young lady with an even brighter future ahead of you please don't let this ruin you." She said tapping my back while she walked me to the door

"I will," I said with a tight-lipped smile
"Make sure." She said before hugging

I was walking down the road heading to the closest bus stop when I saw a car pull up making me step back but then the windows rolled down and I saw who it was

"What do you want ace?" I asked annoyed
"You need a ride?" He asked ignoring my question

"No, I'm good." My dad probably sent him
"Why do you keep dubbing your pops?" He asked getting out of the car and following me

"I'm not dubbing anyone he kicked me out," I said annoyed.

My dad didn't like my life choices and constantly threw my past mistakes in my face, I eventually had enough and said something we argued words were said from both ends and he told me to leave so I left

"Now you know dam well he didn't mean it."
"I don't care what he meant. Tell Rashuard to come to speak to me himself instead of sending you all the dam time." I said before walking off and he didn't follow me which I was grateful for I was better off on my own. I didn't need him, my dad or anyone

"Mama I'm home," I said walking inside our house. I wasn't shocked when I saw her passed out on the couch

"This place is a mess," I mumbled annoyed I cleaned yesterday morning

"Niyiah pass me a drink." Tony, moms new boyfriend said.

He was around five foot eleven, had a bear belly and stank. I don't see what my mother saw in him that's a lie he owned his own business so he made decent money and that's what my mother saw in him. Nothing but a dam check

"No." That was all I said before heading upstairs to my room to see that it was messed up
"Who the fuck was in my room?!" I barked

"Calm down!" Jaheem, Tony's second son said coming from out of his room half naked
