The warrior queen

There she was bathed in glory
Peering over the trashing waves.
Surrounded by the adorning masses,
Stood Yutika after her lap of victory.
Like a Phoenix rising from its ashes
Thwarted has she all her foes.

It hasn't been easy,
For they did never fight fair.
They broke her bones and shattered her spirit,
But they couldn't bend her will.

She beat them at their own game,
Commanding the odds in her favour,
Surrounded by the adorning masses,
Stood Yutika after her lap of victory.
Like a Phoenix rising from its ashes
Thwarted has she all her foes.

Note:
Hey I wanted to recognise my inspiration for this poem. It's my friend Yutika who's gotten into her top choice university. This was just to congratulate her!
