I guess he's not as smart as he looks in his suits.

"Anyways, Chloe how is uni work going for you?" My mother asks, trying to lessen the awkwardness.

"It's going alright. It's actually quite stressful, I hate to imagine what next year's assignments will be like, " she says, placing her fork and knife down before throwing me a look.

"Yeah, uni is quite stressful for me too, but I'm actually feeling confident about my records. I've been doing pretty well up until now. Doing something you like does play a big role in that and fine arts was really the right choice for me, " I say, dropping the last news on them tonight.

My mother stays still and slowly lifts her head up to look at me as my father snaps his head towards me frowning.

"What?" He asks through his teeth.

"What? My studies in fine art, " I say, shrugging as I shift my gaze between my father and mother.

"What studies? What fine art are you talking about?" My mother asks me, leaning forward with her eyebrows furrowed and lips slightly apart.

"My studies in fine art: painting. My degree at the University, " I say casually.

I'm done living by their rules.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" My father growls at me as my mother extends her hand on his arm to hold him down.

"Language father, we have a guest. Where's your manners?" I mock him by using his own words against him.

"You are studying finance and business at university, so what fine arts are you talking about?" He raises his voice, making Chloe's hand on my thigh grip me tighter as she scouts her chair back a bit ready to get up if she needs to.

"No, I'm not studying what you wanted me to. I've been studying fine arts all along. I'm doing great, my professor says I have a really fruitful talent, so don't worry too much about it," I say leaning forward and glaring at him.

He pushes his chair back and stands up, slamming both hands on the table and looking at me with the most disgust I've ever seen in his eyes.

"Get out, " he spats the words out slowly.

I look at my mother for a split second to see if she would say something, anything, but I'm only met with silence. I nod, realizing that the woman I once saw as my mum when I was a kid is long gone.

"I said, get out of my house, " he yells, making Chloe flinch.

"Well, technically this is not a house is an apartment but alright, " I say, grabbing Chloe's hand from my thigh and lacing our fingers.

"Get the fuck out, you're not my son anymore and good luck finding someone to fund your tuition fees because we certainly won't be doing that from tomorrow, " he slams his hand on the table again.

Not going to lie, his words hurt a little bit.

"I wasn't expecting anything else from either of you, " I say.

"Come on Chloe, " I say, giving her a reassuring smile as she looks worried.

I take her to my room ready to take my stuff and leave this prison cell. I can still hear my father talking to my mother even from here as he's yelling.

"Can you believe him? Fucking ungrateful brat!"

I scoff and shake my head at what I hear.

I'm really glad I packed all of my stuff beforehand now. I throw two big bags over my shoulder and grab my luggage as Chloe grabs the other bag.

"You can stay with me if you want, my parents are going to love you, " she says, looking at me with sorrow.

"Don't worry babe, I was going to move out tonight anyway, " I say, griping her cheeks.

"What? Where?" She asks, eyebrows furrowed.

"You'll see, " I lean in and kiss her quickly.

I turn around, looking one last time at my room.

"I'm going to miss being able to see you every day, " I whisper as my eyes land on the balcony.

"I'm going to miss seeing you on your balcony, " she says, grabbing my hand.

"But I'm also glad you're leaving this apartment. Ready for new beginnings?" She asks, turning me around to face her.

"With you, always, " I say, leaning in to kiss her one last time in this room.

"Now come on, our ride is waiting for us, " I say, smiling and eagerly dragging her out of my room.

"Our ride?" She asks, moving quickly matching my pace.

"Yes, you'll see!"

"We're leaving so here, " I throw the keys to this place on the table in front of them.

"I'm never going to need them anyway, " I say and without another word, I turn around and leave this place with Chloe by my side.

"Are you okay? I know that was intense, " She asks me, as we're riding down the elevator.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Let's talk about it later, okay?" I put my arm around her shoulders, side hugging her.

"Okay, so who's our ride and where would you be staying from now on?" She asks, looking at me.

I laugh and open the front gate for her.

"Ready to move in, mate?" Another voice says, making both of us turn our heads towards him.

I smile and nod at him as Chloe's mouth falls open.

"Felix?" She yells.
