Adora's POV
This is my second year at Brightmoon College, me and my best friends, Bow & Glimmer, have decided to start a band. We've already recruited Mermista, who plays bass and will do backup vocals among other things, her boyfriend Sea Hawk who will do the lights and help bring equipment and will also drive us if we get gigs. Mermista said that she would be able two recruit two Juniors that she met at a party, that would be our manager and sound person. Today we are meeting everyone and are going to have our first practice, Glimmer, Bow and I are going to go together to the studio that Perfuma was able to rent for us.
I heard a few knocks at my dorm door and went over to open it. "Hi Adora, are you ready for our first band practice!" Glimmer said excitedly. "Yeah let me just get my guitar real quick," I said before going into my room and grabbing my case, I accidentally knocked over a picture frame. I quickly picked it back up and put it on my desk, I stared at her for a bit then went back to the door. "Okay, let's go," I said before closing my dorm door.
We drove to the studio in Bow's car, Glimmer was in the passenger seat while I was in the back. I looked outside of the window while Bow and Glimmer talked about who knows what, I was lost in my head and didn't hear anything they said.
*Flashback*
"Come on kids, I brought you some new toys!" Shadow Weaver shouted as kids came running to her. 6 and 7-year-old Catra and Adora came running into the room hand in hand, they stopped in front of the big box full of instruments. "Now children these are called musical instruments, they are used to make music. If any of you would like to learn just ask me and I will teach you," Shadow Weaver said. "Catra look at that one!" Adora said pointing towards a guitar. "That's so cool, look there's even a mini one," Catra said pointing at a ukulele. "That Adora is called a guitar, and Catra the mini guitar is actually a ukulele which is slightly different," Shadow Weaver explained to them.
"Would you like me to teach you how to play them?" Shadow Weaver asked. The two girls looked at each other and nodded, then turned towards Shadow Weaver and smiled, "Yes Please!" they said in unison. "Okay then, come with me," Shadow Weaver grabbed a guitar and a ukulele and motioned towards the box, the two girls grabbed a guitar and ukulele and followed her into a separate room. "Okay let's start with the basics, so Adora this is how you hold a guitar," Shadow Weaver explained, and Adora mirrored her. "Good" Shadow Weaver said, "Look Catra I'm doing it!" Adora exclaimed, excitedly. "Catra, I will teach Adora for 10 minutes then I will teach you, okay?", "Okay, I'll just watch then," Catra said, smiling.
Ten minutes passed and Adora learned a few basic chords, it was hard at first but she got the hang of it after a while. Now it was Catra's turn to learn. "Now Catra the ukulele is similar to the guitar but you hold it like this," Shadow Weaver demonstrated and Catra copied her. At the end of the lesson, Catra learned five chords and a basic strumming pattern, she was a natural. "Well I must say I am impressed with the both of you, especially you Catra you're a natural but if you practice more Adora you will surely be at the same level maybe even better than Catra," Shadow Weaver smiled at them.
The two started walking back to their room with their instruments in hand. "Wow Catra you're so good at ukulele, I hope I can be as good at guitar one day," Adora complimented making Catra blush. "I wasn't that good and I'm sure you will be super good once you practice more," Catra said. After that day Catra and Adora practised whole hours with Shadow Weaver, Adora was improving very quickly but Catra became slower. Their other friends Kyle, Lonnie and Rogelio also started learning instruments and they started singing as well, eventually they started a band and played songs together that Shadow Weaver would teach them.
"Catra, when we're older do you think we will still play together?" Adora asked while laying in her bed, feet towards the wall, "I hope so, we could travel the world and play together," Catra said also laying in Adora's bed with her head beside her's and her feet towards the end of the bed. "That would be awesome," Adora said drowsy. "Yeah" Catra responded quietly feeling the sleep take over, the two fell asleep in the position.
*End flashback*
"Adora! Adora!" Glimmer shouted at me and I was snapped back to reality, "We're here. You ok?" Bow asked her worriedly. "Yeah, I'm fine, just thinking," I said, "You were in very deep thought the whole ride here, what were you thinking about?" Glimmer asked, "Oh nothing much, the band, school, you know," I responded. "Okay then. Are you ready for the first band practice?" Bow asked, grabbing the keys out of the ignition, "Let's do this!" I responded with more enthusiasm.

First chapter woo! I hope you enjoy comment any suggestions, I am open to constructive criticism. If you have any ideas or modifications feel free to tell me, (especially about the major's) I don't go to college so bear with me. Also, I didn't make Shadow Weaver so mean to Catra...Yet, because for one I don't really like Catra getting hurt and she is still young and Shadow Weaver still has a bit of heart but she probably will go through some stuff sadly, but I don't know how to write it that well but I will try my best. There won't be any swearing in this because I don't swear so I don't feel the need for the characters to swear and they don't swear in the show so I don't find it necessary.
