I stopped running and decided to wait for her. It felt like what we always see in the movies, being cliché and all, but when I saw Rosie running towards me wearing her best smile that warms me.... it felt... it felt like the world has stopped...

...because suddenly, the new world I know is the one running towards me now.

Well, that has always been what I am feeling since the first time we met.

I can suddenly feel the heat rising to my cheeks and I can only imagine what color Rosie had painted on it.

Rosie halted in front of me. Her eyes turned from amusement to concern while her brows furrowed.

"Hey, are you okay?" she said softly while cupping my cheeks. "Your cheeks are literally red."

"I..I..uhm it's nothing. Just from running," I chuckled nervously and hoped she wouldn't notice it because she'll tease me.

She suddenly press the palm of her left hand on my forehead.

"Oh okay, I thought you're sick or something," she smiled while taking my right hand. "Let's go, I'm craving for ice cream."

"Chaeng!" Jisoo called from afar. "Thanks for saving me from Jendeuk!"

"Yah I'll still get back to you! Aish," I shouted back.

"Buy me ice cream! See yah," she laughed while walking away with a grin written all over her face.

Rosie and I were now outside our training grounds and made our way to our favorite ice cream truck across the street that passes by every 5pm.

"One milk ice cream and a mango flavored one, please," Rosie smiled to the old man as she buys.

"Your accent is music to my ears," the old man beamed. "You two always date here at my ice cream truck huh. Aigoo, I wish I could have grandchildren like you, two beautiful people."

"Harabeoji!" Rosie and I said in unison. We all laughed until we finally get ahold of our food.

"Bye harabeoji!"

"Grandpa annyeong!"

"What's with the mixing of languages. Aigoo these kids," he chuckled as he took orders from other costumers.

Rosie and I walked along the side of a river. Well, haven't I told you that our training facility faces a park alongside a long straight river. There are trees with benches underneath facing the waters and the concrete path where you can jog, bike and whatever. The autumn season now makes it more aesthetically pleasing and relaxing. With the varying colors of the falling leaves, everything just feels safe. This is a place where we can relax at least from the tense training inside our grounds.

We stopped walking as we are now in front of our favorite bench, we settled and sat.

"You know, this is my favorite sitting place," I said while looking at the setting sun. "Because whenever I sit here, all I can think of is you."

"Why?" she asked. I can see hints of blood rushing to her cheeks making it pink.

I turned my head at her and smiled. "Because this is where you tripped," I laughed out loud not noticing a light punch was coming.

"Hey!" Rosie whined while she throws light punches on my shoulder. "I already thought you were saying something sweet," she huffed and suddenly laughed along with me.

"I clearly remember how I tripped on a small stone while holding my ice cream," she laughed but with a sudden pout on her lips.

"And then when you got up, the moment I saw your face, it was full of ice cream," I said to her while almost gasping for oxygen because of laughing.

"You meanie," she whined. "You didn't even helped me to get up."

"Well, if you haven't made me carry all the other food that you bought that day," I scoffed at her playfully.

"Yeah right," she rolled her eyes and chuckled.

We stayed and watched the sunset and people passing by. We are now halfway on eating our food when Rosie broke the comfortable silence between us.

"Jennie."

I hummed in response and looked at her.

"Are you ready for tomorrow?"

"Yes."

"How about after tomorrow?"

"That is what I'm not sure of."

"Me too," Rosie said while looking at me. "I'm actually kinda scared."

"Yep, me too," I replied while looking at her gorgeous brown orbs. "We will be in the open world where real dangers are."

"But I will always protect you, I promise," I added with a smile.

"Oops, seems like we're gonna protect each other," she said. "I am gonna protect you too, silly."

"Okay, let's make a deal then," I chuckled.

"What?"

"Let's not lose each other. Deal?"

"Deal."
