Three.
"After you, my lord." Sebastian stepped to the side and bowed, allowing his master to pass and enter the room.
Ciel brushed his blue hair out of his face before stepping in and searching the room with his eyes. His faithful butler closed the doors and stood behind him, doing the same.
The dining room was magnificent, as was to be expected from the Queen's residence. It was incredibly long, and a table, made from the finest and most expensive of woods, stretched from one corner to the other, straight in the middle. Matching chairs stood left and right, seemingly going on forever.
The floor was covered by a red rug with herbal patterns on it, that matched the curtains that hung from the ceiling. The walls were also red, and covered with paintings of the Queen's ancestors and family, dressed in their best robes and posing . The pictures were in elaborate golden frames, that contrasted nicely with the rest of the room. Four gigantic golden chandeliers were hung on each of the corners of the room, lightning it up. The ceiling was made up of intricate patterns and decorations, white and gold in colour.
But nothing could eclipse the grandness of the Alexandrina Victoria of Hanover, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and Empress of India, born to Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn and Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld.
She was dressed in an exquisite gown, dark blue in colour, that fanned out and covered the floor surrounding her. She was sitting at the furthest end of the table, which was completely bare except for her spot, that was set perfectly, with plates, cups, silver cutlery and an embroidered, pressed napkin. A footman was standing at her side, assisting her while she stirred and then sipped her tea delicately.
Even though she realized there was somebody in the room, she didn't raise her head until Ciel and Sebastian had reached her side. Then, she motioned for the footman to draw near, and when he did so, he was instructed to leave the room. He hesitated, but then took a step back, bowed, and exited hurriedly. Only then did the Queen allow herself to smile.
"Ciel, my dear boy! It has been to long! Why don't you come visit me anymore. Come here!"
As the earl approached her, she shifted in her seat, and once he was close enough, she grabbed him and pulled him into her lap. "You have grown so much!" The Queen pinched his cheeks and stroked his hair. The young noble, however, was having none of it and quickly moved out of reach. He straightened his clothes and then cleared his throat.
"If you allow me to say so, Your Majesty, it really hasn't been that long."
"Whatever do you mean? It has been forever!"
The young boy frowned. "I distinctly remember that our last meeting was a little over a month ago, when you put me in charge of the murders that started when you called me in."
"But that was one month ago!"
"Yes. That is what I just said." The earl sighed. "Anyway, it is taken care of. There will be no more killings related to this case."
"Very well. I'm pleased. Is that why you came to see me?" The Queen eyed the cookies next to her.
"Not only that. There is another matter I would like to discuss with you, Your Majesty."
"Is that so?" The Queen said absentmindedly, paying more attention to the food than Ciel's words. Finally, she gave in and grabbed a cookie and started nibbling on it.
Earl Phantomhive watched in disbelief while Sebastian's eyes crinkled in amusement.
"Yes." The aristocrat sighed. "It is."
