Y/n's POV

A few quinjets came to the airport within about fifteen minutes. Along with several high security vans and armed guards. In a blur of yelling, struggling, crying and regret the situation was soon cleared. Clint, Sam, Wanda and Ant-man who I learnt was called Scott were arrested and were being taken to a high security psych prison called the raft. Rhodes was in a seriously bad shape so was on the fastest jet, Tony riding with him. The rest of us were flying back to the compound.

When we got back the team were pretty much silent. Vision looked sad, not only was it partially his fault that Rhodey was really hurt but also Wanda had been taken. Rhodey was immediately taken to the medical place at the compound and put in for loads of tests. Tony and Vision watched whilst we went to clean ourselves up in the living section. Nat opened the door and I followed her in. She stopped just inside the doorway. "Are you angry at me?" She burst out, her eyes looked a little red as if she was going to cry

"No why?!"

"I let them go! Even though we all fought to stop them."

"You did what you thought was right. Therefore you did the best you could have. They need to do whatever it is they are planning. Steve isn't dumb enough to chase after something pointless." I looked at Nat with a soft grin. She nodded and I held my arms out to her, indicating her to come and hug me. She collapsed into my arms, she didn't cry but she did bury her head into me. I stroked her head like she had done to me before. Eventually she pulled back and wiped the single tear away from her eyes.

Nat's POV

"I'm going to get a shower, you probably should as well." I looked at Y/n who just smiled sweetly at me. She smiled a lot and it always made me feel better. She nodded her head and we went to our rooms.

Once we had finished we sat together on the sofa with a mug of hot chocolate in hand. Y/n didn't push for me to talk, just letting me process my feelings on my own. However her just being there was comfort enough. I felt guilty but I knew what I did was right because I trusted Steve. I was so glad that Y/n agreed with me, or at least understood. I wanted to thank her and tell her how much she meant to me but I didn't know how. I looked down at my steamy drink then back up at the young woman. She was watching me, her eyes delicately looking over me. "You look pretty when you're thinking. No, no. I can't say that." I heard her say but her mouth didn't move. I frowned and she looked at me confused.

"What?" She laughed.

"Did you say something?" I asked and she shook her head.

"Yes you did. You couldn't tell me that I... I looked pretty."

Y/n's POV

My jaw dropped, how did she hear what I said. I had been watching her, how pretty her wet hair looked, how her smooth skin looked soft even with the scratches or how she was sort of smiling at something. I had thought about telling her, talking to myself to see how silly I would sound. "Can you hear me?" I thought to myself whilst looking at her.

"Yes!" She laughed. My jaw hit the floor.

"Can you hear me?" She said but her mouth stayed in it's usual soft smile. I nodded.

"Do you... Are you telepathic?" She laughed, taking a sip from her winnie the pooh mug.

"Not that I know of but that doesn't mean I not!" I smiled.

"Well I think you look pretty when you think as well." Nat said softly. We both blushed and nervously looked down at our mugs. I went to say something but Friday interrupted.

"Miss L/n, Miss Romanoff. Mr Stark says you can go and see the patient." Nat grabbed her leather jacket and we headed off through the compound.

Within a few minutes we had sped through the building and reached the door to the corridor that led to the scanner. We stood in the doorway and Tony turned to look at us. Him and Nat stared at each other for a moment. He looked sad, like really sad and my heart ached for him. The three of us walked to the nearest balcony. Tony looked out across the land.
