The next morning I awoke at 3:00am and threw on a loose light blue puffed sleeve dress. Underneath I had a knife holster attached to my thigh which held three knives. I ran out of the hotel and first, towards the saloon. I ran around back and looked for the box Louis had talked about in the note, which I hoped would still be there...It wasn't. I was disappointed but I tried not to get too upset. I turned and ran behind the sheriffs station and pulled an empty barrel from the shed out. I marked it with the words "Queen's Silver" and placed it on the outside of the fence, inside, I placed a note that read: "Dear Queen, I believe our mailbox has been compromised, please place any messages in The home of their leader, on the upside of the Church commission."
Roughly translated that means:
"Dear Mom, they know about our communication and it's too dangerous, so, put all letters on the ceiling of the church mailbox."
It's not coded great but hopefully she gets the message. At first I was worried she wouldn't look in the barrel, so that's why I wrote our code words for danger on it. I headed to the church and put a note containing everything that had happened in detail the previous night on the ceiling of the mailbox. When I finished i went back to the hotel and tidied my room as well as made a small pot of coffee and mended one of my dresses, when I was finished I sat down on my bed. The party had been so crazy I hadn't thought to be exited about my first date. So for a second, I smiled and jumped up and down on my bed giggling. I recalled when the sheriff asked for me to dance with Louis, and Whitey's strong arms gripped my waist and pulled me into him. The feeling of his arms pulling me against his hips, how he looked at me with those brown eyes and that beautiful golden hair made me burst out laughing in excitement. By the time I was too tired to carry on jumping up and down it was near 6:00am so I went ahead and walked down to the church to see if my Mom had gotten the message. I opened the mailbox and sure enough there my mother had glued a letter to the ceiling of the mailbox. I went behind the church and opened it, inside it read:
"Dear Sophie, I am not pleased to hear that someone is suspecting you and at first I wanted to send Cora in to help you...I still might. The deputy can be a good way to get closer to the sheriff, but I'm warning you, don't get to close. I want you out of there as soon as possible so hurry up and figure out the sheriffs exact monthly routine. Find out more about this "Louis" and if he proposes a real danger pull a Naomi 0602. By tomorrow update me, then I will make my decision about Cora"

You are probably wondering what a Naomi 0602 is.
On June 2nd Naomi went on a mission to find a man who was hiding under the identity of a farmer in a farming district on the state lines of Utah, a Fellow farmer had gotten close to discovering her and so she seduced him and he let go of his grip on her case.

Seducing Louis...Ew. The words my mother wrote felt ingrained into my soul, "don't get to close", "I want you out of there as soon as possible". I wanted to get close, I wanted to get closer than I ever had before... I decided i could use some back up and if Cora came in then it might help me. The real problem would be Louis and finding out what exactly he wanted. I walked down to the saloon and started cleaning up, I had my work cut out for me. The whole place was in a complete mess. And I worked for most of the day and by the time lunch came around I wanted to collapse in my bed and sleep for ten hours. I walked up to the bar and sat behind it thinking about what to eat. The bar was high so sitting behind it you couldn't see what goes on in the room unless you stood up. Suddenly a blonde head of hair poked out from above the bar looking down on me. It was Whitey.
"Good afternoon" he said smiling
"Jesus Christ!" I yelled, startled to my very core.
Whitey laughed
"You shouldn't use the lords name in vain" he said clearly not serious.
"I'll use the lord's name in vain if I damn want to" I said still calming down.
"Don't doubt it" he said grinning and looking at me deeply.
"You got a reason to be scaring the living crap outta me? Or, you just being mean?" I asked tilting my head to the right.
