"That's not true." A voice said from behind me, making both and Gaia jump.

The devil himself landed next to me, on his black horse and dressed in full armour.

"I've missed you." He said solemnly,

"I wish I could say the same." I glared at him, walking Gaia on.

However before I could get very far, Harry turned Ares around in front of us so I couldn't walk any further. I huffed in annoyance and tried to walk around him, only to be stopped again.

"You can't possibly say you haven't missed anything about the castle, especially after everything you've said since you became queen."

"You've shown me who you really are, and I don't feel like going back to that." I snarled,

"Only the other day you were saying how much you loved the kingdom and me and the castle and the people and-"

"I only just realised recently how much shit I have to put up with around you. To be honest I can't be bothered anymore. You're just tiring."

Once I realised that I wasn't getting around him, I got off of Gaia and walked around him myself. I heard a thud behind me, and was quickly turned around by my arm.

"Get off me!" I spat, snapping around quickly and flicking my wrist back so the blade shot out from my wrist.

"Wow, you really are one of them." He said, taking a good look at the weapon that I now pointed at him. "They only give those to the most important members of their little gang."

"You're going to want to shut your mouth before you regret it." I warned, taking another step towards him, making him step back a bit.

"Fine." He nodded, "Let's do it your way."

He pulled out a long, silver sword from the sheath on his hip, pointing it at my in challenge.

"Let's see if you've improved."

He swung towards me, stepping forwards with the thrust. I darted out of the way and moved the blade from my face with the dagger that stood from my own arm, producing a sharp metallic scraping sound. He grinned, coming towards me again, but as he did, I leapt over his body and landed on the other side of him, pushing him forwards and onto the ground in his front. I kicked his own blade from his hand into mine, holding to his throat.

"Whoa, calm down." He said, actually looking scared for himself for once.

"You need to learn where you stand, Sire." I hissed, pushing the blade into his neck, hard enough for it to hurt, but not pierce the skin.

"But, Kate." He pleaded, "I just want you home. The boys want you home, the people-"

"Do you think any of that will make we want to put up with you for another second of my life?" I growled, pushing the sword in further, still not breaking skin.

"I thought I'd be enough..." He muttered, making me laugh dryly.

"You should have thought of that before you acted like an utter arsehole and pushed me away over and over again."

Suddenly, I heard a distant sound of flapping wings, but whatever it was sounded big, and like it was coming this way. I looked up to see a dark shadow descending to us, which landed in the middle of me and Harry. It snarled threateningly at Harry, spreading its dark wings in front of me, as if in protection. Harry scrambled to his feet, but stopped and stared for a few seconds, a look of utter disbelief spread across his face.

"Zayn?!" He said, but was only answered with a demonic voice, unlike anything that I had ever heard before.

"Leave!" It said, making Harry swiftly jump back onto Ares, who took off into the sky with a frightened whinny.

The mysterious figure turned around to face me. It was the same person that had landed in the field and saved me the other day, and it in fact was Zayn.

"Zayn?" I asked, raising my hand to touch his face.

He leant into my hand, which gently caressed his face. This gave me time to investigate what had happened. Only a few days ago I had seen him and he was fine. I looked down his body at his torn shirt, showing his dark skin, which was even darker than normal. That's when I saw that his wound that had been inflicted on him during the war.

The darkness had spread, darkening all the major veins in his arms and all along his body, his eyes with dark, and the most outstanding thing was that he know had huge, sleek, black wings, which moved slightly in content as I continued to hold my hand against his face.

"This must have been what Michael was talking about." I muttered to myself.

One thing is for certain. This was just getting started.
