"You'll always be my baby. My Seyeon-ah."
Seyeon giggles, but snuggles closer against her father just as the door to the cabin opens. Jeongguk grins down at the sight before him of his mate, and his mate's carbon copy, hugging against one another.
"I'm feeling a little lonely up here now," he whines, jutting out his lower lip in a pout. Seyeon squeals, looking up from her father to beam towards her mother. "Hey there, princess."
"Mom!"
Scrambling from her father, Seyeon jogs the rest of the way and hugs Jeongguk just as tightly. Chuckling, Jeongguk hugs her back and scents her gently, threading his fingers through her raven hair.
"What are you two doing out here? Where are the others?" Jeongguk asks, looking around with a furrowed brow as the mother in him frets about where his pups are located.
Seyeon giggles. "Jisung is with Yeonsu, I think. They are playing out by the river. Hajun and Hayoon are following around Hani, with Tae. As for Jia, she is, of course, with Hobi."
Jeongguk felt a smile bloom over his face. Jia, their youngest born a year and half after the twin boys, had become attached to the hip to Hoseok. She barely left the Beta alone. As soon as she mastered walking, she would clamber and crawl her way to the cinnamon Beta.
Sometimes, she would cry for hours until the Beta was there, holding her. Talking to her with that goofy smile of his and chittering away with her. Even at six years old, Jia would often dash off into the woods to go find Hoseok.
Mingyu, Seokjin and Namjoon's youngest child, would join her, but he prefered lingering close to his mother. Unlike his twin sister, who was too much like Dal. A troublemaker. Those girls didn't care about the age gap. They were practically twins with the amount of shit they got themselves into.
Like the Skunk Incident, which Jeongguk and Yoongi both partly blame Taehyung for. Jimin made him sleep outside for a whole week until the smell was for sure gone completely.
"And what about Dal? Aren't you usually with her?" Jeongguk presses, brushing his fingers over his daughter's cheek lovingly.
Seyeon chuckles breathlessly. "Yeah. I am going with her. Joon was going to take her to the forest with Jimin to learn tracking. Jisung said he would come too!"
Jeongguk hums. "Well, as long as Namjoon is with you, then I don't have a problem. Be careful, though."
Seyeon rolls her eyes, tightening her fingers around her mother's hand. "Mom, I'm a big girl. I'll be fine. I can hunt squirrels all on my own, too!"
Jeongguk smiles, a surge of pride blooming in his gut as he kneels down and smoothes back her hair to kiss her forehead. "Yeah, baby. You are my big girl. So grown and fierce." Seyeon preens at the praise, tilting her head. "Already such a good hunter."
"I'm going to be the best soon," Seyeon promises quietly, nuzzling Jeongguk's cheek. "Can I go now?"
Chuckling, Jeongguk glances towards his mate, who was leaning against the porch railing with his arms crossed over his chest and face soft as he admires his eldest child and his mate bonding sweetly.
"What do you think, Yoongi? Shall we let our brave girl go?"
Yoongi shrugs. "I guess so. What are we to do to stop her?"
Seyeon groans loudly. "Dad, mom!"
Bursting into laughter, Jeongguk straightens and brushes off his white tee. Seyeon glares (playfully) towards her mother with a slight huff and sniff, but before she could reply, a gangly blue-grey with patches of white stumbles out of the forest.
Jeongguk grins at seeing the familiar shape of Dal. She had really grown into herself the past couple of months, taking on the thin and elegant frame of a wolf well. She still had the too-long limbs, paws a bit too big for her body, but her coat was completely adult fur. All blue-grey with random blotches of white- like her left ear.
She looked just as beautiful as Seokjin, but as strong and noble as Namjoon. Dal, in a small way, suited her name of the Korean word for the moon. She led all the younger pups in the pack with grace, despite being a Beta.
Her scent of frosted berries and clove was intricate, gentle and gruff within your nose, and yet somehow still calming.
Seyeon, upon seeing her best friend, beamed as she moved to join her, but paused to glance back to her parents with wide eyes. Jeongguk leans against Yoongi, snuggling against his warmth.
"Be home for dinner. And if you see your brother, pass the message on," Jeongguk demands. Seyeon grins, agreeing, before tearing off her white dress and shifting into her wolf form.
Her sleek black coat and gangly limbs were perfectly reminiscent of her mother's coat, but she was smaller. Tiny still, similar to how Yoongi was, but Jeongguk knew she would grow. Call it a mother's intuition.
Dal's tail wagged happily as they both yipped to one another, nuzzling their greeting's before disappearing into the forest to head towards Seokjin and Namjoon's cabin.
Sighing, Jeongguk turned to face his mate, arms around his slender waist and his grin cheshire. "Hi."
Yoongi beams. "Hello, darling."
"What were you two talking about so seriously?" Jeongguk wonders, pressing soft kisses along Yoongi's jawline. "You felt sad, Yoongi."
Grumbling, Yoongi slithered his arms around Jeongguk's waist and settled on the step, pulling Jeongguk down so that he was straddling his waist. Despite aging, the only thing that gave away their years together was the speckles of grey lining the roots of Jeongguk's sable hair.
His skin was slightly more wrinkled around his eyes, no longer smooth with youth, but he was still just as beautiful. His body still slender, though his hips were by far wider from the multiple births, and the stretch marks now permanent residents.
Jeongguk settled over Yoongi's lap, squeezing his thighs gently as Yoongi slips his hands under his shirt and strokes the looser skin of his stomach as Jeongguk sinks his fingers in Yoongi's silvery hair.
"Seyeon was worried about presenting," he admitted quietly, nuzzling into Jeongguk's scent gland and inhaling deeply. "She didn't want to be a Beta or an Omega, like Jisung."
Jeongguk paused, surprise washing over the bond as his lips left Yoongi's neck and pulled back to stare at him in slight disbelief. Yoongi rubbed his thumb against his hip. "But- we gave her the talk, didn't we? The presenting talk, and how it doesn't matter? We told her it doesn't matter..."
"Darling, it matters to her," Yoongi murmurs softly, pressing a quick kiss against his lips. "Just like it mattered to you, all those years ago."
Flinching at the reminder, Jeongguk leaned away from Yoongi with a slight frown creasing his lips. Yoongi tightens his grip on his waist, using his scent to calm him. "But, my family was trash, but here, it doesn't matter because we won't ever send her off to be bred."
"Jeongguk, she knows that," he interjects quickly. "Seyeon, of course, knows that. It wasn't about breeding. She was worried about the same thing you were. Being good enough even as an Omega."
A frown touches his features, fingers tightening over Yoongi's shirt and sighing quietly. "She will always be good enough. She is my pup. My baby. Mine."
Chuckling, Yoongi nuzzles Jeongguk soothingly. "Yes, Omega. She is our pup. I know." Settling at the words, Jeongguk captures Yoongi's lips. The Alpha groans happily, mouth moving easily over the Omega's. "I stupidly love you, Guk."
Jeongguk smiles against his lips. "I stupidly love you too, Yoongles."
Snorting, Yoongi shook his head. "I still hate you for that," he grumbles, then tugs slightly at his long black hair. "Come on. We need to go rescue Seokie from our youngest terror."
