Chapter 13- Broken Promise

Just then Ella took her by the arm and pulled up her sleeve, to which she saw nothing. A smirk grew onto Andrea's lips which she thankfully was able to hide it just in time. However she could only hide it if her emotion was neutral, any other and the symbol would show. "Where is it? My Ashy poo doesn't lie. Now why don't you show it" Ella said, giving Andrea a death stare. She thought it was hilarious the nickname she had given, however Ella was really getting on her nerves. "You're going to show it to me or I will hurt Asher and Ryker. Now." Ella whispered in her ear, which gave Andrea the chills. The headmaster, finch, and all the professors saw how hard she was trying yet they knew she was under a lot of pressure.

Without even realizing it her mark showed, it seemed that all the pressure had finally got to Andrea. Ella gave out an evil laugh and raised Andrea's arm to show that she had a mark. "You see she is a defender, a horrible underaged one which doesn't do anything for the school" Ella said, placing her arm down harshly to her side. Andrea just ran out of the Trickery Hall with Asher and Ryker following behind. She didn't want to talk with anyone at that moment since someone she trusted the most betrayed her. This is why one of her weaknesses is trusting others with things like a promise. Some others include being perfect, protecting her friends, and trying her best with everything she does.

Noah's snotty friend group stopped Andrea from leaving just to say ridiculous things to her. "Seems like you are useless. The defenders wanted you. They never get missions so how fun." Britnney said to her face, Andrea just stared into her soul just wanting to get to her dorm. "At least something wanted me, at least I got an award unlike you" Andrea replied back to her, it seemed she got roasted since she looked shocked and just stepped away. Noah mouthed ''I'm sorry'' and felt really sorry for how his so called "Friends" were treating someone that he knew ever since he was young. Andrea mouthed back "It's fine" while he made all of his friends as well as him go back to the Trickery Hall to eat while Andrea rushed to her dorm. With Asher and Ryker not following too far behind.

When Andrea got back to her dorm she slammed the door shut and just put her head into her knees. She couldn't believe that her being a defender was finally shown to the school, it was something she knew she had to keep a secret. Anger started to fill Andrea of how one of her closest friends betrayed their friendship, their promise. She trusted Asher very much and for him to stab her in the back just brought her trust issues back into the picture.

The door flung open and she saw Asher and Ryker come into their dorm. Ryker saw Andrea and felt incredibly bad, he didn't have a part in this yet it still hurt. He felt bad for Andrea that she had to feel this way, all because Asher couldn't do anything about it. He tried to hide the secret for a long time, meaning he was hurt a lot. Finally gave in. Ryker saw Andrea hide her face from them so they wouldn't need to see the pain she was going through. They could see how much pain and anger she was going through.

"Andrea I-" Asher started to say until Andrea just got out of bed and started yelling at him. "Asher shut up, I trusted you with that secret, and you had to tell your petty girlfriend which you weren't supposed to! Ryker I get it for you but Asher how could you love your girlfriend so much you tell her our secrets! Don't bother coming for me anytime soon and just know our friendship is over" Andrea yelled at him. They were both speechless of how much anger had come out of Andrea. "Andrea I-I couldn't have done anything about it" Asher stuttered, he was nervous about losing the only person who took him in.

"You could've not told her, it's that simple. It's because you don't get the pressure I'm put on a daily basis, now I'm being called useless" Andrea said. Ryker just came up and hugged Andrea trying to lower her anger level since she was yelling nonstop. She first tried to fight the hug until she just stopped. She hasn't shed a tear since she isn't one to cry her way out of situations. She just hugged Ryker back with her eyes closed, her head digged into his shoulder. Ryker wished their friendship wouldn't take a turn like this and he just prayed that Asher would soon come out.

Andrea pulled herself out of the hug and started to pack a bag with little necessities she might need. "W-Where are you going?" Ryker asked, he backed away while standing next to Asher knowing how bad he feels. "I'm going to Diego's I'll be back in the morning, I can't trust myself sleeping in the same room with a traitor" Andrea said looking Asher dead in the eyes. He felt terrible for what happened yet had no way to control what Ella would do. He was hurt in many places, the worst he has ever been since they started dating. Only Ryker knew about it and he wished that Asher would tell Andrea the truth about his secret as well. He knew this relationship would not end well.

Before they could answer Andrea she left the dorm to go to Diego's to spend the night with him. Without them needing to talk her out of going to Diego's dorm. "I can't believe I just lost that friendship" Asher said, sitting down on her bed, looking at a photo they took on their first day. It was just Asher and Andrea just before they were about go on the train. However the glass around it was shattered into pieces and the picture was teared midway, separating them. "You have to tell her, we know she can help you," Ryker said, sitting next to Asher on Andrea's bed. Asher knew he could tell Andrea anything yet now with their friendship ruined, he wasn't so sure. Ryker knew how Asher felt with empathy since he knew going through a breakup of a close friendship was hard.

"Tell her when you get the chance. The friendship can still recover. She gave you the bear for silly reasons and that is what we do, I promise it will get better." Ryker said this with a hand on Asher's shoulder. Asher looked at him with a soft smile and they tried to think of a way to get their friendship back. It was going to be difficult yet they thought if they could just talk to her maybe he could say it. Ryker hoped that they would soon get their friendship back since they both seemed happier whenever they were hanging out with each other. Now, Ryker was in the middle of their relationship trying to get it back together. Ryker left the dorm to check on Andrea to make sure she was ok after their argument.

When he arrived at Diego's dorm he heard laughing from the other side. When he walked in he saw Diego and Andrea talking just having a good time. "Andrea can I talk to you for a minute?" Ryker asked, peeping his head to look inside. "Of course" Andrea said, standing up and walking out of the room, "What's up?". "I just wanted to check on you," Ryker said, making sure she was ok after their fight. Andrea just rolled her eyes and looked at the wall, not caring about it. "I'm fine, just annoyed," Andrea said, angry that Asher couldn't keep a secret if he tried. "Just, try to talk to him when you have the chance throughout this break ok?" Ryker said, nearly begging them to create conversation with one another. "Fine, good night" Andrea said, walking back into Diego's dorm, where she started to laugh once again. Ryker hoped they would talk with each other soon and walked back to his dorm, hoping their conversation would end well.

"How did the talk go?" Asher said, he was anxiously waiting for Ryker's return to finally talk with him once he got back. He closed the door to see Asher hugging the bear Andrea got for him as a joke. With his parents being very busy Ryker guessed he never got much like that so he took it seriously. Ryker didn't like being in the middle of their disagreement yet he really wanted to help bring the trio back together. "She agreed to talk to you throughout this break yet I'm not sure when" Ryker told truthfully to Asher. They continued to talk until they were both exhausted. They both fell asleep not knowing what Andrea was up to.

"You have to talk to him, he is one of your closest friends" Diego said to Andrea, while they were talking about why Ryker pulled her outside. Andrea just put a serious face on and shook her head not wanting to talk to Asher for a long time. "He used to. I can't even trust him! Now that secret is out what next?" Andrea said, sounding very annoyed at what had happened. "Trust me just talk to him and maybe you can figure something out about him, promise me it always works" Diego said, sitting next to Andrea who was thinking something over. She thought about what Diego had said and thought it wasn't a bad idea.

Andrea looked at Diego who also knew how close their friendship was, Andrea didn't seem bothered that their friendship took a turn for the worst. Yet she was broken inside and just wanted to hug Asher and be his friend again, so maybe it wasn't a bad idea. "I guess you're right," Andrea said. "I know," Diego said, acting like a drama queen. Andrea laughed and agreed to talk with Asher tomorrow morning and she headed to bed.
