Luke and Lily drove around the town smoking cigarettes and talking, mainly about music but still talking.
"Lily, you're really pretty" Luke blurted
Lily brushed her lilac hair out of her face
"what?" she asked
"I'm sorry you just are really pretty and I just wanted to tell you" Luke mumbled
Lily smiled and placed a kiss on Luke's cheek
"you wanna go somewhere" Lily asked after a short moment of silence
"yeah sure"
Lily drove Luke to her favorite hideout spot. they parked in the little dirt parking lot and Lily dragged Luke to a fence with a sign that said: DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE in bold red letters.
"I put that sign there" lily told him
she climbed up the fence and jumped down, luke followed her. they walked for another 5 minutes to a little field surrounded by woods. Luke pulled out a fresh pack of cigarettes from his back pocket before they sat down.
"you had your own but you continued to suck down mine" Lily glared at him
"I was waiting until you were almost out then we could smoke mine" luke smiled at her
"shitty excuse but I'll gladly take yours" Lily laughed and took a cigarette out of Luke's hand
"wait why were you in the halls anyway" Lily asked after blowing out a puff of smoke
"well, I told the teacher I wanted to go to the nurse but I was just going to leave anyway and then I ran into you" he replied
"ah nice, do your friends know you smoke" Lily asked him
"nah nobody knows, except you, I always change my clothes and put on new cologne after I smoke. do your friends know?"
"the whole goddamn school knows luke" she laughed
"I'm always missing class because I'm out smoking" Lily smiled and for the first time in a long time she was happy to be able to talk to someone.
