Lily stormed out of the office and was about to go to her car to smoke cigarettes and drive around for the rest of the day when she bumped into someone. he was tall, very tall, he had blonde hair and a black lip ring. she knew exactly who this boy was. Luke Hemmings. Lily looked up at him and played with one of the million earrings in her ears.
"oh sorry I was going to-" Lily got cut off
"I knew exactly what you were going to do, you were going to skip school to go drive around smoking cigarettes." Luke told her
"ya, and if you don't mind I'd better be going" Lily mumbled
"you wouldn't mind if I came with you, would you" luke asked
"nah I don't really care I guess" Lily replied
they walked out of the school together. Lily took out her cigarettes and lighter from her backpack and lit one up. she exhaled a huge breath of smoke and sighed.
"want one?" she asked luke
"very much" luke smiled and took a cigarette and the lighter out of her hand.
Luke breathed in a deep breath full of tobacco and breathed out a huge puff of smoke, much larger than lily's
"you know that will kill you right" Lily told him
"yeah I know but I would like to be dead just as much as you" luke smiled at her
Lily rolled her eyes and began driving.
"so what happened to you" Luke asked
"I mean you had so many friends and people adored you, you were an amazing athlete and had straight A's"
"well I grew up and my parents grew apart and I only did all that so they would like me, and it worked for a little while but then I couldn't keep it up, there was so much pressure on me that one day I just caved." Lily didn't know why she was telling this to a boy who she had just really gotten to know, but it felt good to get the first half of the story off her chest.
"you?" Lily asked
"well one day I woke up, looked outside and saw the sun was shining and the grass was just as green as it was the day before, and I realized that even if I wasn't alive everything would still be the same, like I guess a couple of people would be sad but it didn't really matter. so I thought what's the point in living if no one's really gonna miss you" luke didn't know why he was telling Lily this either but it just felt right
