(Katara's POV)
Sometimes I wondered how it's like to have a mother. She was gone soon after I was born, so naturally, I don't remember much about her. I always assumed how she looked and how she sounded. During my most tough times, my inner voice would always calm me down and soothe me when I needed it. I don't need my inner voice anymore, because I have Aang, and he will help me through my tough times as I will help him. I know he will.
We've started writing some songs. Well, Aang and I. Sokka's always annoying and the rest are almost always practicing.
It's Friday now and I've noticed that some boys are paying a lot of attention to me. They all try to flirt with me and ask me out, but I reject them every time. I have eyes for Aang, and Aang only.
"Katara? Katara?!" Aang snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Wh-what?" I turned my head, looking at him. Aang had a leather-bound notebook with a partially yellowed piece of paper sticking out. I couldn't make out the scribbles that were appearing. Whatever it was, considering the eraser marks and ripped edges, this was an old sheet.
"What do you think of this? I finished it," Aang asked, shoving his notebook in my face. The scent of pine tackled my senses and I took a sharp breath while picking it from his grasp.
