"Anything else?" I calmly asked.

"Nothing much else. Over the years it has become a fable that Russian parents tell their kids, that the bloody girl will find them and they two will have to sit through what she did."

I nodded slowly and looked into Adrian's nervous eyes. I shoved my heel into his chest. He laid completely on his back and I straddle his waist. "Now I am still going to have to kill you. I was planning on cutting you 25 times with my blades in every direction, but you have soon value to me tonight. So I'll be generous."

I stepped back off his bloody and bruised frame. I grabbed another knife from my thigh holder with my right hand and in my left held my gun. "How would you like to go out?"

"Gun." He answered and took a deep breathe. He moved his lips slightly probably praying but he was going to Hell, so why bother?

"You're no fun." I whined and shot him once right between the eyes.

I wiped the blood off my hands on the white van and waited for Boss's men to clean up the mess. Once again they provided a way a cloth for me to wipe my red stained skin. I pulled my dress back on, cleaned my weapons, and rushed back into the ballroom.

Shade was talking with a few new men. I walked over to his side and laced my fingers in his. He stiffened for a moment before a huge smile spread onto face as he pulled me into his chest and kissed my mouth.

I froze completely. Shade is kissing me. On my fcuking mouth. I kissed him back quickly before pulling away and looking into his cloudy grey eyes.

"Darling, I am glad your back." He smoothly spoke pressing his warm nose to my temple. I already had trouble focusing on anything other than the red tint of my lipstick that on rested on his lips.

"Excuse us gentlemen, I would like to speak to Spencer alone for a minute." I smiled at the men staring at the two of us. The nodded their heads and one winked while I pulled Shade into a corner.

"What Kenny?" He growled. His once soft voice seemed to have been murdered by the demon in his eyes now.

"What the fuck was that kissing bullshit?" I hissed.

"Some of the men I were talking to, thought that you were sleeping around the ball."

"Well, don't kiss me again. That's not necessary. Good news, I have killed all my soldiers."

"I have killed all of mine as well. The Caporegimes have already been dealt with. June saw them outback having a smoke and unloaded her gun in those motherfuckers heads."

"That means it's finally time to play." I smirked. "Shade, darling, are you ready?"

"Always Kenny. Just get her to say the word."

"I'll make her scream it." I grinned and grabbed Shade's hand.

All the guests gather near the grand stairwell. Large men in suits go near the doors and grab the golden handles. A tiny man round man scramble to the first step and held a silver microphone.

"Attention Guests, and other rich people." A subtle laugh came from the crowd. "I would like to formal introduced the hosts of this evening."

The grand doors opened to a tall man. He looked like he had seen hell and back. In a dark green suit with his grey hair gelled straight back. He didn't smile or even seem to care that all these people were here for him. The women that gripped his hand was the opposite. She smiled and laughed when she met the eyes of the guests she knew. Her long white dress was similar to mine in its simplistic nature. An angel among this crowd of thieves and murderers. To bad this angel is dancing with devils tonight.

"Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Nikolai Anwar." The tiny man yelled. The crowd applauded and cheered. Jealous women and envious men whispered harshly under their breath as the couple descended the stairs.

The orchestra bagan to play a soft romantic sound as couples made their way to the center. Shade lifted my hand to his lips and pressed a fleeting kiss. "May I have this dance Katherine Sosa?"

"You may Spencer Crane."

He took my hand and lead me to the dance floor. I knew in the pit of my stomach and the coldest parts of my heart that the dynamic between Shade and I would never be the same. Toxins run through our blood, no matter how many times we call each other 'darling', he will still be a threat in my eyes.
