"You're so full of shit." She shook her head, laughing at his unbelievable story. They're now in the garden, eating their lunch while swapping childhood stories. "I swear, Aliya!" He was still laughing hysterically as he remembered how bad he was as a kid. "There's no way you got away with that!" She couldn't believe that he got away with taking a dump in his school's pool. "And!" She put a finger up to him to tell him not to interrupt while she tries to calm herself down from laughing. "Why the hell did you think that that was a good idea? What was the goal?" There was nothing he could gain from shitting in a pool. Nothing.

"The first time was an accident but then people began a movement protecting me! Protecting the 'school pool pooper'!" She snorted, accidentally spitting her drink everywhere. "School pool pooper?!" She didn't notice how he stopped laughing hysterically and was just watching her with a gentle smile. He was glad to see her having fun once again, laughing and smiling. After she has calmed down, she looked him in the eyes and smiled, "Thank you." He grew red and looked away, drinking some water.

"What for?"

"Trying." Trying to survive. "With me." Words would never be enough to describe how incredibly thankful and grateful she was for him. That he was right next to her in that waiting area, waiting on the same plane. That he cared enough for her and Marina that he waited for them in the carpark. That he offered not only his vehicle, his cabin, but also his companionship with her.

So incredibly grateful.

Her words warmed his heart. He too, was grateful that it was her that he ended up with in this world. "Well, they did say that the SPP was incredibly generous and fun to be around." She snorted and rolled her eyes at his attempt of lifting up the already high spirits. "On a serious note, thank you as well." Her brow shot up in curiosity, asking him what he was thankful for. "For coming back." A small gasp left her lips as she involuntarily put her palm against her beating chest.

Him thanking her warmed her heart to an intense degree.

They were both smiling while watching the sunset when he cleared his throat, a thought seemingly choking him to tears. "Seeing this sunset is making me miss my family." Their surroundings suddenly became solemn. The dead leaves and weed advertising death as a marketable art. The dark sky reminding them that everything ends; life, happiness and peace. She could only nod in agreement, trying to find her voice.

He cleared his throat once more, trying to fight back the tears and looked to her, "Do you think they survived?" Remembering how her parents are, she scoffed a laugh. "They definitely did." Nodding with a smile, she could imagine how her parents are doing now. Seeing her smiling like that made him feel jealous, a bitter smile grazing his lips unconsciously. She noticed this as her smile dropped immediately, "I'm sure yours did too." If they were anything like him, they're probably in a settlement somewhere, being vital members of their group.
