     "Pathetic. Simply pathetic."

"Bound to happen, with how this one is. These things are too primitive to know when they are meant to live or die."

"This one is too weak to live. Let it die."

Light. Shouts. A scream. Someone shouted for help.

"Look at it. It won't work."

"It doesn't know that it's dead, apparently."

   "Tsh!"

Someone exclaimed with surprise. Said they were too far gone. Someone told them to try anyway.

   "Stubborn fool."

Pressure. Power. A current. Back arching. A heart began to beat for a second.

   "Gah! No!"

"This one is too weak! It cannot live."

The heart stopped. Someone swore and said to try again. More power. Another surge. The heart started again.

"Damn. However weak they can be, they have definitely figured some things out. But it's too late."

The heart stopped once again. One said there was nothing they could do.

"Pah. Had this one just followed instructions, this wouldn't have happened."

   "The world would be better."

   "Pity."

Someone was shouting. They were protesting. They couldn't do it again. It was too late. Someone shouted again. Hands on the face. Begging.

    "What is it doing?"

    "It's called pleading."

     "So it's groveling, now? Fool."

Wet. They were sobbing. Faint words drifted.

    "What's it saying?"

    "Don't care."

   "...Well, it wouldn't hurt."

Voice cleared up. Sobs rang through. "I-I'm so sorry, Fl-Fletcher. I'm so--" It buried under more crying.

    "Ugh."

"Does it really think crying to a body is going to do any good?"

    "Apparently."

   "P-Please don't le-leave. I-I can't do th-this without y-you. I can't."

    "Weak!"

    "Isn't it curious?"

"How it thinks it is weaker alone?"

"Fool. Strength is in solitary life."

"Why would it think that it is stronger with others?"

    "I-I can't."

    "Look at this!"

"It might actually think that we hurt it."

"Instead of doing it a favor."
