Forgetting You

I think one of the hardest parts about forgetting you
was that
I couldn't go to you every time I had something exciting to say.

Every time something happened
I had an urge to go and tell you immediately,
but I had to remind myself
that you were gone,
you didn't want me anymore.
And after awhile
I just stopped.
After awhile
I didn't have an urge to tell you anything anymore,
and that's when I knew we were going to become strangers.
That's when I knew we weren't going to know everything about each other anymore.

And that was another hard part about forgetting you.
