Chapter 9 (Whispering Past Part 3)

Start from the beginning

His happy face when we played together with Hana, his... his face that I imagined when he knew the truth.

Until one song came out of my mind and my fingers played the guitar without me controlling it, yet my heart did.

The song that brought me back to my beginner days, I sang every part of the song, with the bitterness in my heart. Because of how relatable this song was to (Y/N) and me...

I left him a scar that was big enough to destroy our relationship. Yet here I was, begging him to come back and stay.

The song we sang together as Blackpink, it felt like scolding me. For everything I had done to him. And everything I ever wanted right now.

Ironic...

I kept playing, until I felt something cold tapped my head... yet not as big as a tap of a finger. Rain... yet it didn't concern me. Nothing could concern me worse than him.

All I was concerned... was him. All I wanted... was for him to come back. All I wished... was for him to forgive my stupidity.

The rain that wet my head along with my body, the song that felt like scolding me, the loneliness that had been creeping up around me, they all helped me shed more tears as the rain covered it.

I began to struggle to sing well since my voice started to crack. But I didn't let sobs out. I kept singing bitterly until I reached a few final lines.

"Jigeum dangjang manheun geol baraneun ge anya (I don't expect a lot right now)."

"Geujeo nae gyeote stay with me (Just stay with me)."

I strummed my guitar a bit more, before my little heart couldn't take it anymore and I broke into tears after the longest time I was trying to do it.

I hugged my knees and buried my face on it, started crying along with the dark sky. If only I could turn back time and fix something, it had to be him. I wouldn't even think twice...

"God... if I could do anything... anything, I want him... I want (Y/N) back... please." I whispery pray... although I knew, something like that wouldn't happen.

I kept hugging myself, protecting myself from the nothingness until the rain stopped.

(Y/N)'s POV

"Where is she?"

Jennie slowly took her hand off me. "She's at the park. She-" a growl of thunder interrupted her once more, as it began to rain.

"Let's go, we'll talk in the car!" The Thai girl pulled my hand and ran toward the car Lisa mentioned as the girls that were older than her followed along.

We got in and it was raining heavily. And it was almost midnight. Maybe once we got to there, it would be right at high moon.

Thanks to the light traffic, since it was almost midnight, we made it to the park around 10 minutes. Hell there wasn't any traffic at all!

There was only sound of rain hitting the car's roof, nothing else. None of us talked even a single word, the music was not even on. As if no music could calm us down and fit the situation.

Once we managed to reach the entrance, we finally readied ourselves to find her. Into the dark park in front of us.

"Come on, we need to go get that silly chipmunk! I'll be damned if she's still here!" Lisa searched the car for umbrella.
