Meredith woke up to a weird feeling in her stomach. She looked over. It was only 4:36. She just rolled back over and ignored it.

Then Derek woke up a few hours later. It was 5:30. They had to get up in half an hour anyways, so he just went downstairs to get coffee.

Meredith woke back up and went downstairs to find Derek.

"Good morning sunshine." Derek said. Mer didn't like names, but he made her like them.
"Good morning."
He planted a featherlight kiss on her head, and went back to cooking.
"So, how's the baby?"
"I don't know. There's this weird feeling in my stomach."
"Oh. Are you ok?"
"Yeah I'm fine it's ju-."
Mer's water broke.
"Meredith are you ok?!"
"Yeah. My water broke."
"Really?!"
"Yeah!"
"We are gonna have a baby!"
"We are gonna have a baby."

Mer wasn't having many contractions, so they didn't leave till about 20 minutes later.

"Ow. Derek." Meredith said while squeezing his hand as tight as she could.

"Meredith, I have to go sign in. Can you wait here?" He said while she was squirming around in the chair.
"I got her."
Alex jumped in, coming around a corner.
"Mm." Meredith had another contraction after another.

"Ok momma. We're gonna take a look." The OB said walking in.
"You look to be about 8 centimeters, so not much longer."
"Uh huh." Mer replied trying to get through another contraction.

About thirty minutes later the OB came back.
"Ok mommy. When you feel like you need to push, you push."

"I'm gonna push now."

Not to long after, a little bundle of joy was brought into the world. This terrible, screwed up world.

"Ellis Grey-Shepherd." Derek said adoring his daughter.

"She's so beautiful." Mer said
"She is."

"Congratulations guys." Alex applied.

"Thanks."

Update: sorry for the inaccurate time gaps. I have looked into everything more and I know they are wrong. Sorry!
