I couldn't believe it. My mother was dead. We walked home that day and revealed the news to the pack in the same instant. Dimitri left. He packed up his bags and moved back to Everdeen county, he said he couldn't live without my mother. But then my dad couldn't either. There was a hole in all our heart's.

I promised I'd never forgive myself for leaving her, for running, knowing that she would die. As my mother would've said 'Immortality isn't worth living unless you've got something to live for' but now my mum is dead and she might as well just be rose petals in the ashes.
