Draco had began to like the way things were going for him at hogwarts. He had an amazing girlfriend, cool friends and awesome grades.

Draco had been recently wondering why Hermione hadn't been herself. They had been together for two months now, one more month until winter break.

He had noticed small things at first. How she wasn't reading as much lately, or how she always wanted to spend time with Pansy, Harry, Ron or Ginny.

Hermione couldn't help but feel utterly jealous at Astoria Greengrass for always wanting to spend time with her boyfriend. Draco, being oblivious to Astorias true intentions, he had always been pretty open to the idea of hanging out with her.

Astoria had been horrible to Hermione. not wanting to ruin Draco and Astorias friendship, she stayed quiet.

He had been in the great hall with Blaise and Pansy sitting across from him.

"Hey, have you guys noticed how Hermiones been acting differently?" Draco asked his friends anxiously.

"Well-

"Salazar! How have you barely noticed!" Pansy cut Blaise off exclaiming in anger.

"What?" Draco asked innocently

"Oh my Merlin! It's obvious! Astoria Greengrass!" Pansy threw her hands up in frustration.

"What do you mean?" Draco asked, still confused about how she fit into Hermiones change.

"Mate, it's pretty obvious she fancies you and Hermione has to watch Astoria flirt with you endlessly" Blaise explained, shaking his head.

"Oh" was all Draco could manage to say.

Draco mentally slapped himself for being so oblivious. Hermione had began to change after he and Astoria became good friends. Astoria had insisted it be only him and her to play chess or anything else.

Without hermione.

Astoria did everything she could to make sure Hermione wasn't there with Draco. Compliments flying out of her mouth towards Draco, Hermione watched. Hermione had been quiet for the sake of their friendship, when all she wanted to do was rip Astorias head off.

"What should I do?" Draco asked. Burring his face in his hands.

"Ok listen up, you are going to ask Hermione to go to hogsmeade with you, I will tell Astoria you are free, Astoria will ask you to go with her in front of Hermione. In front of Hermione your going to tell her no, Astoria will say something mean to her like always, you'll defend her...done" Pansy explained, throwing her hands up in a winning mannerism.

"Wait, Astoria says mean stuff to Hermione?" Draco asked, anger flowing through him.

"All the time" Blaise answered with bread in his mouth.

"Yea, she tells us not to tell you so she won't ruin you and Astorias friendship" Pansy answered, clutching her goblet tight out of anger.

"I don't deserve her" Draco whispered.

"No, you don't!" Pansy exclaimed, rolling her eyes.

"Ok, so explain the plan again" Draco determinedly said.

Pansy then started to explain the plan vividly enough for both of the boys to understand. Both of the boys listening intently to every word coming out of the raven haired Slytherin. After long talking and explaining they came up with how the plan would set out.

Draco patiently waited for Hermione to come back from the library. Hearing footsteps he snapped his head to see Hermione walking over to him, plopping herself next to him.

Giving her a kiss on the cheek, Draco asked "want to go hogsmeade today?"

"Uh sure, let me just go put my bag away" Hermione relied. Walking into their dormitory, she plopped her bag into her bed before running out with Draco.

"Draco!" They heard a voice call out.

Turning around they saw Astoria jogging towards them with an evil smile on her face.

"Hey Astoria" Draco said. Getting ready for the plan in his mind.

"Hey Astoria" Hermione greeted her sweetly.

"So, do you maybe want to hangout later?" Astoria asked innocently.

"Uh no sorry, i wanted to have the whole day for just me and Mia" Draco said confidently.

"Mudblood bitch" Astoria muttered under her breath.

"What did you just call her?" Draco said angrily.

"Oh nothing" Astoria said with a sweet smile. Strutting up to them, she gave Draco a kiss on the cheek before running down the hall.

"Draco...we need to talk" Hermione started, feeling tears that she determinedly didn't want to fall.

"Yea I know, I can't believe she called you that I-

"I think we need a break" Hermione blurted out before he got the chance to say anything.

"What?" Draco whispered.

"It's what we need" Hermione whispered back. Taking a step back, hermiones heart shattered into a million pieces at the look on his face.

"No, No! That's not what I need!" Draco exclaimed. Throwing his hands up in frustration.

Hermione didn't reply, walking back to her dormitory was the only thing she was capable of.

When Hermione reached the girls dormitory, she broke down. Feeling like her heart was ripped out of her chest. Sliding down the door, hugging her knees, she sobbed into her knees.

Hermione wanted anything but a break from him, she just hates the feeling of having to be jealous of Astoria. Having to watch as Astoria flirted with Draco broke her heart, but he was oblivious. Wanting to say something about it, Astoria made sure Hermione didn't.

Laying on her bed, Hermione remembered last weeks encounter with Astoria in the library.

"Ok listen up, What is going on between you and Draco?"Astoria asked bitterly.

"He's my boyfriend" Hermione answered, confused by her question

"We'll see about that soon enough.."

A knock made Hermione snap out of her daze. Not bothering to knock once more, Pansy strode into the room with her hands on her hips.

"Hermione! Why did I just hear from Draco that you two broke up!" Pansy exclaimed, throwing her hands up.

"B-because....Astoria.....I just feel like he isn't sure about our relationship, or else he would've actually seen how she is always clearly flirting with him" Hermione explained. Burring herself into her pillows, Hermione sobbed loudly.

"Oh, Hermione...he is such an idiot" Pansy said, pulling Hermione into a tight hug.

Although Hermione didn't want Astoria and Dracos friendship to end because of her, she knew she should've said something. Hermione refused the thought of telling Draco about Astoria before, now, she regretted not saying anything about it.

Draco felt like an oblivious idiot for not noticing the cause of Hermiones distress. Draco knew this was all his fault, yet he couldn't help but feel as though Hermione was part to blame considering she never said anything about it.
