~kaycee pov~

I hurry down the street, dodging people as I go. I almost bump into a few girls going shopping early in the morning, probably to escape the weekend bulk buying parties. I power-walk past the shops, aware of the time. The worry about the hour changing keeps creeping through my mind. I sharply turn right into the coffee shop, being careful that no one is behind the door. I fall through the door, hitting the floor with a loud thud.

"Kaycee!" Sean shouts as he rushes over to pick me up off of the light wooden floor. I stand up and brush myself off. I take in the smell of the coffee shop, the sweet smell of coffee and cake floating through the shop. I look around at the people sitting at the old tables and chairs. They are all staring at me. Sean pulls me to a door at the back and opens it for both of us. He shuts it behind him and turns back to me.

"You okay? You took a big tumble over there," he says, chuckling slightly. My cheeks flush bright red.

"I'm so stupid! Everyone was watching me!" I groan as I hit my head with my hand. He laughs at my embarrassment, but I can tell that he does care. It's one of the things I really love about him.

"Do you want a coffee?" He asks, searching for eye contact. My eyes dart up his as my cheeks grow redder.

"No Sean. I want you!" I say confidently, without thinking about my words. He looks taken aback, his face grows into a smirk. I read his expression before thinking through what I just said.

"Wait! Not what I meant! I meant, I want you to come with me to meet my mentor! Whatever you are thinking is wrong." I reply. He laughs, throwing his head back.

"I know that's what you meant. I just wanted to see you blush." He says while still laughing. I put my hands against my cheeks and realise how warm they are. I roll my eyes before pushing past him and walking out the door. He follows me out into the shop.

"What do you want me to do about work?" He asks me, pointing towards his apron.

"Just say you have to take today off!" I reply, walking behind him to take his apron off.

"I can't do that! What if they are short staffed?" He asks sounding shocked.

"Sean, this could be the start of a dance career for you! Come on!"

He sighs before pulling the apron over his head and walking into the Staff Room.

He comes back out, holding a black rucksack. He shoos me out of the shop, following swiftly behind me. I look at him excitedly and we start walking towards Millenium together.

~

Millennium is like my second home. I grew up there as much as I grew up in my own home. Whether it be the teachers, or the friends I have made there; it is where I spend a lot of my time. We walk into the car park and move along to the side: so we don't get in the way of any cars. I look over to Sean, he is gazing at the vast building as if it is the most incredible thing he has ever seen. I watch his eyes cast over the people walking into the building, his expression changes.

"I shouldn't be here Kayc." He says, still watching the people walking in, as he starts backing away. I grab his arm before he can get away too far.

"Sean, please!" I plead.

"Kayc, look at them. Then look at me. They can afford to go here, I can't!" He replies, the terror coming through in his voice. I shake my head and keep my hand on his arm.

"You are here on talent Sean! That's all that matters!" I say, gently pulling him towards the doors. He looks at me and I can tell how scared he really is. I rub my thumb against his arm, trying to comfort him. He sighs before giving in and slowly following behind me.

"Lucky for you, I thought ahead. I told Tricia that she had to meet someone, so we are fully booked with her for most of the day!" I said, trying to cheer him up. He looks at me and starts smiling. I smile back as we walk up to the doors. I let Sean go in first and follow him swiftly after. The white walls, streaked with red and black surround us. The front desk stands in the middle of the room, a line of people queueing up on the left. We slip past the line of people and start heading towards the stairs.

"Second room Kaycee!" Sofia, the receptionist, shouts from behind the line of people.

"Thanks Sofia!" I shout back. I smile at Sean as we ascend the stairs. He gives me a shy smile. I led him upstairs into a narrow corridor. There are four rooms that take over the top floor, they aren't as big as the three downstairs but they are big enough to hold specific age group classes. I watch Sean take in everything around him. I squeeze him arm and direct him towards the second room. I can understand why he is nervous, I was my first time in a class. This could be the start of his dance career, this is huge.

"Take a deep breath Sean. I'm here for you every step of the way." I remind him as I place my hand on the door handle. He meets my eyes and smiles faintly at me. I twist the handle and open the door for both of us.

She opens the door slowly, while keeping eye contact with me the whole time. My heart skips a beat as I let my eyes roam the room. This is my dream, to dance in a studio. It's perfect. It's everything I ever imagined. My eyes fall on a woman standing in the far right corner of the room. She's wearing black sweat pants and a black and white oversized hoodie. Her dark red hair is scraped up into a bun on the top of her head. She's wearing big gold hoops that almost met her shoulders hanging from her ears.

She turns to face me and Kaycee before smiling from ear to ear at us.

"You must be Sean right?" she asks as she strides up to us. I nod slowly, as her facial expression changes. She can probably tell I am nervous, I'm not exactly hiding it. Kaycee looks over at me and grins.

"He's a bit nervous, Mama T." Kaycee says to the lady. She nods while keeping eye contact with me.

"It's okay Sean! I'm not as scary as I look! I've heard lots about you from this one," she says, pointing at Kaycee. Kaycee looks away, her cheeks turn bright red.

The lady chuckles. "I'm Tricia Miranda by the way, you can call me whatever you want. She calls me 'Mama T', it's up to you."

I nod slowly before she turns away and heads back to the stereo in the corner. Kaycee turns back to me and smiles. She squeezes my arm before dragging me to the side of the room; where we put down our bags.

"I brought some snacks and water for you: just incase you didn't bring any yourself." She says, pulling out a bottle and a packet of potato chips out of her bag.

"Kaycee, you didn't have to. I work in a coffee shop." I say while chuckling. She waves the items in front of me to insist that I take them. I roll my eyes and take them.

"I know I didn't have to, I wanted to!" She exclaims while zipping up her bag. I take a sip of the water she gave me and place both the items on the floor beside her bag.

"Ready?" She asks me. I nod slowly and take a deep breath. She smiles at me before turning to Tricia.

"You guys ready to learn? I'm gonna be teaching this combo next week in a proper class but I want to see what you can do!" Tricia states.

"We are learning a new routine?" I ask quietly.

"So he does speak! Yes we are, I just want to see how quickly you pick up routines, what your style is and what your freestyle is like. I've been told by Miss Rice here, that you are an incredible dancer." She says.

"Oh okay, got it." I reply while nodding. Kaycee smiles at me while Tricia turns back around. I can't believe I'm about to learn a new routine in a proper studio, from a real choreographer.

"Right, let's start!" Tricia says.
