Chapter 40: Sweet 16

Start from the beginning

This was thinner than the previous one. And it looked awesome. I thanked him with a peck on the cheek.

"Okay ready for the last present." Alex asked.

"You already gave me my gift."

"I dont want to argue right now. It's way past your bedtime."

"Hey I'm 16." I said grabbing the small box he was holding out.

I opened it.

"A keyring! It's so shiny. I'll use it for my locker keys." I said hanging it around my finger and spinning it. All my brothers exhaled loudly.

"Kat it's not just a keyring. Look deeper okay." Alex said placing a hand on his forehead.

Oh.

"Car keys." I said casually. Then it strike. Like lightening.

"CAR KEYS!?"

"ALEX NO! I DONT WANT A CAR. I CANT DRIVE. ITS AN AUDI IT MUST BE EXPENSIVE. RETURN IT OR KEEP IT FOR YOURSELF!"

"God Kat you speak too much." I widened my eyes and replied.

"God Alex you spend too much."

"Its a family tradition. Every one gets a car on their 16th."

"Well does it have to be so expensive!"

"Yeah. Quit talking. Dont you wanna see your new car.

"It's Wow. I mean it's so sleek." I said running my hand over it.

"Kat take a test drive." Alex said throwing the keys over to me which I catch using both of my hands.

"I dont know how to drive remember." I said in a duh tone.

"That's where I come in. Get in the driver's seat." He said and I followed. It was a 2 seater car.

"Let's go over the basic. That's the start button. Accelerator and brakes. Reverse gear. Hand break. Flash lights etc."

"Press that button to start the car." I did as he said and the engine started with a roar.
