CAMP

"This is it." Steve said as he motioned to his old army training camp.

"The file came from these coordinates." Natasha added.

"So did I." Steve uttered. Darla's eyes flickered to the sign that read,

'CAMP LEGIGH U.S. ARMY RESTRICTED AREA'

Darla grabbed the padlock that held the gates shut and scrunched her face up. She pulled out a bobby pin from her hair and began to unlock the padlock.

Steve let out a surprised chuckle as she pushed the gate open and turned back to him with a smile.

"This camp is where I was trained." Steve explained as he walked in first, his eyes scanning around the camp.

"Changed much?" Natasha questioned curiously.

"A little." Steve said as he looked up to an empty flag pole. Darla offered him a sympathetic smile before linking their hands. She assumed he would be remembering his time at the camp.

"This is a dead end. Zero heat signatures, zero waves, not even radio." Natasha said frustratedly. "Whoever wrote the file must have used a router to throw people off."

Darla's eyes followed Steve's, which seemed to be focusing on a building.

"What is it?" She questioned running her thumb over his knuckles.

"Army regulations forbid storing munitions within 500 yards if the barracks. This building is in the wrong place." Steve said as he pulled Darla towards the building with him.

"Hey guys?" Natasha caught their attention, making them spin around and face her. "I'm going to wait in the car, I'll be the get away driver."

"Are you sure?" Darla questioned anxiously, hating the idea of Natasha on her own.

"I'm sure." Natasha nodded and left the pair alone.

Steve used his shield to break the padlock on the door, making Darla turn to him with a blank look.

"And you couldn't have done that earlier?"

"Thought it was cute how focused you were." Steve shrugged with a smirk.

Darla hummed in response and began to walk down the stairs of the building. She leant against the wall and flicked the light switch up, turning the lights on. She looked around and muttered,

"This is SHIELD."

"Maybe where it started." Steve nodded as the pair walked through the bunker, both anxiously looking around.

Darla looked up at the three photos that sat on the wall.

"That's Tony's dad right?" She questioned motioning up to the man in the middle.

The blonde girl couldn't help but feel guilty, she hadn't called Tony in a while. She hadn't even told him she was joining SHIELD.

"Howard." Steve nodded, but his eyes focused solely on Peggy Carter.

"Who's the girl?" Darla questioned quietly. Steve didn't say anything, he just walked away.

Darla watched as Steve stared at a bunch of shelves covered in cobwebs.

"If you're already working in a secret office," He pulled the sleeves to reveal an elevator door behind them. "why do you need to hide the elevator?"

The blonde shrugged and pulled out her phone. Fury had made a few modifications to it over the years, which she was beyond grateful for. She scanned the padlock and four numbers came up.
