Chapter 16 spoilers

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,"
You sang softly to Mammon, combing your fingers through his hair. He hummed a small thanks and snuggled tighter under his covers.

"You make me happy when skies are grey."
He had come into your room just because he felt like it, even if he said it was to protect you. This happened most nights now, so you almost expected him.

"You'll never know dear, how much I love you."
He let out soft snores, signalling another successful night of sleep for him.

"So please don't take, my sunshine away."
You whispered the last line and snuggled next to him. 'I love you, my little greedy devil,' you thought as you drifted off to sleep.

"Y/N!" Mammon screamed, tears running down his face.
"Hang in there, please." He held your head in his lap, forcefully shaking you to try and keep you awake. "Please, you have to stay. Don't you die on me!" You could hear Belphegor's laughs as he just watched his brothers react to what he did. Your eyes fluttered open and shut, but everything looked the same whether they were open or shut. Black. Mammon's cries got louder as Satan explained that you weren't going to live with the injuries Belphegor have you.
"No... please..." Your eyes felt too heavy to keep open, so they closed. You felt Mammon pull you closer to him.

"You...are my sunshine. *hick* My only sunshine."
The words were whispered in between sobs. You tried to smile to show you heard him, but your body gave up before your mind did.

"You make me happy."
The note on 'happy' broke, and you could feel his tears fall and run down your face, but only barely.
"When skies *hick* are grey."

Your hearing started to fade, and all you could hear was sobbing, until you heard one last sentence, "And that's where I always fell asleep, wasn't it?"
