I grow colder and colder each day.
My skin is embossed with goosebumps
Forming an ancient permafrost.
Hypothermia becomes first nature.

Reptilian scales renew,
Keeping me at sub zero,
Even when the spring comes,
Hibernation suspends me in animation.

In between life and death is limbo.
I sit Imprisoned between extremes
As warmth never quite sheers my realm
Like how scars lacerate through.
