Elizabeth's POV
Peter opts to just run to the airstrip. Before anyone can argue, he runs off with me still in my arms. I don't exactly appreciate the nausea on top of my current condition when we arrive. He sits down, laying me down with my head laid in his lap. It isn't exactly that this bothers me at the moment. It quite obviously doesn't bother him.
"Are you alright?" he asks.
"I will be," I reply weakly. "I just need a moment."
"What happened to you?"
"I overextended my powers way beyond what I should've. I used to be able to do what I'm doing now with almost no effort."
"Why can't you now?"
"This ridiculous serum. My powers scared my dad. He uses it to essentially completely suppress his powers. It dampens my own almost beyond use. Even the simplest tasks using them makes me sick and drains my energy."
"What is your power anyway?"
"I'm a telepath."
"A tele- oh no... Did you see... um earlier... were you-"
"In your head? Yes. Yes, I was."
"Did you see-"
"Yes, I did."
"I... I... I'm sorry. I- You're-"
"Guess I don't have to ask your thoughts on me."
"Uh." He laughs somewhat pitifully. His face has turned an extremely bright red. He's quite embarrassed at the thoughts I saw within his head. "Yeah. I-I guess not. You're... uh... hot."
"I saw that when you-"
"Please don't say it aloud. I'm embarrassed enough as it is."
I can't help it. Laughter spills from my mouth. This is quickly followed by a coughing fit. Though this sickness from overextension of my powers doesn't last long, I feel horrible while it does.
"You ok?" Peter asks.
"I'm alright. You, uh, think I look nice?"
"Well duh! Why? Has nobody ever called you pretty?"
