A/N: they are in their last year:) Severus' house ^

Hermione woke to a tapping on my window, turning around she spotted an owl, hogwarts owl.

Hermione quickly pulled the covers off of her, racing towards her window. Giving the owl a few strokes, she took the letter.

𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓,

𝑾𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒈𝒍𝒂𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎 𝒚𝒐𝒖

'Blah blah blah, I'm coming back to hogwarts' Hermione thought, skimming to the last part of the letter.

𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒂 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆

'What!? New identity!?' Hermione thought, gears spinning in her head.

Hermione had heard a few soft sobs coming from downstairs, she quickly put her letter down, racing downstairs.

Hermione peaked her head into the living room to seat her mother, sniffling into a tissue, with her father rubbing soothing circles in her back.

"Mum, dad?" said Hermione, slowly walking towards her parents.

"Hermione, your mother and I, well we have something to tell you" Said Hermiones father, Tim.

"Yes, we-we.....well Hermione, your adopted" Hermiones mother, Jean, explained through her sobs.

Hermione felt dizzy, like the air got blown out of her.

"What?" Hermione whispered.

"Y,yes....your biological father will be here any minute to take you to your real home" Tim explained further, giving his adopted daughter a sad smile.

"No! No! That's! No! That's not fair!" Hermione yelled, her knees giving out, falling to the ground, letting out sobs, almost ripping her hair out.

Suddenly a knock on the door was heard from all three of them, Jean got up from her seat to open the door.

"Hello, please, do come in" Jean said politely, gesturing her arm for him to come in.

"Miss Hermione" Hermione looked up to the familiar voice, there stood Severus Snape.

"What!?" Hermione screeched in confusion, picking herself up, racing towards her room. She slammed the door, against the door, she slid down slowly, bringing her knees to her chest.

Finally taking everything inside her, she walked ever so slowly to the living room, hoping it was just a dream. No. This was no dream, there sat her biological father, Severus Snape.

"Hermione, we best be going" Said Severus, standing up.

"Uh...oh....ok, I will...just erm, get my stuff" Hermione stumbled over her own words.

Finally getting everything she needed, she looked around her room once more.

"Goodbye" Hermione whispered, hoping this wouldn't be the last time she saw her room.

Running towards her adopted mum and dad, embracing them into a hug.

"We love you so much" Jean whispered into the hug.

"Never ever forget that mia" Tim added on.

"I love you guys too" Hermione said, pulling away, giving her adopted parents one last sad smile before, turning to her biological father.

"Hold on tight" Severus said, softly, to Hermiones surprise.

Closing her eyes, opening them Hermione saw a house, a small black house.

"Come on, I have your room ready" Severus said, letting her hand go, walking toward the house.

Entering the house, Hermione looked around in surprise, she had expected something cold and dark, unwelcoming, no, it wasn't exactly warm and cozy, but it wasn't cold and dark.

"Here, Come sit, I'm sure you have questions" Severus gestured towards a black long couch.

Hermione sat, still slowly spinning her head around, examining the house she would be living in.

"Well? Any questions?" Severus asked, breaking the silence.

"Who's my mum?" Hermione asked, curiously.

"Ember salrain, she died, a month after you were born" Severus answered, showing Hermione a photo of what she assumed was her mum. She had brown, curly long hair cascading down her back, green eyes, soft silky skin, light pink, plump lips. Laughing, her and Severus were laughing in front of the black lake.

"Why? How do you know I'm your daughter?" Hermione asked, still in shock from all the information she had been absorbing.

"I gave you up for adoption after your mother died, i couldn't handle raising you without her, after a while of gathering myself, I've decided to seek you out, you look very much like your mother, I always seen you at hogwarts wondering if you were my daughter, I am certain now" Severus explained, showing more pictures of her mother.

"Oh, hey! She....my mother, she has the same necklace as me!" Hermione exclaimed, showing him a necklace around her neck, then pointing to the same necklace her mother had in all the photos.

"Ah, yes, that was your mother's necklace, she asked me to give it to you before she died" Severus said, giving Hermione a sad smile.

"H,how did my mum die?" Hermione asked, placing the pictures on the table in front of her.

"An unforgivable curse was used on her, she has been falsely accused of stealing something" Severus continued to answer Hermiones questions as much as he could.

Hermione had asked so many more questions about her and her family, Severus continued to answer her questions truthfully.

"Hogwarts, they....I'm not a Gryffindor?" Hermione finally asked.

"No, I asked for you to be put in any other house than Slytherin, so I wouldn't know who you were, now they want to sort a few people from your year, again" Severus answered the question that had been bugging Hermione.

"Oh" Hermione managed to get out.

Hermione was still pretty much in shock, absorbing this information was giving Hermione a huge headache. Wondering if this was a dream was no longer an option. She was Hermione Lyla Snape, no longer, Hermione Jean Granger.

"Come on, you have to leave to hogwarts tomorrow, let me show you to your room" Severus gestured, upstairs.

Hermione got up, swiftly took her trunk and backpack, following her father towards upstairs. Severus gestured inside a room, Leaving Hermione alone, he left. Hermione could hear a faint sound of one of the doors closing.

Looking around, Hermione knew she was going to grow fond of her new room. It had one big dresser, a huge green and silver bed, curtains a faint green and silver. Her whole room was pretty much Slytherin themed, it also had a walk in closet.

After taking a shower, she had slipped into a tank top and sweats. Hermione had begun to think of her friends and what they would say when she explained everything to them. Hermione wasn't quite sure she would be ready to tell her friends everything tomorrow, considering she still wanted to ponder everything herself.

Hermione had been looking forward to her future with her biological father, even if she missed her adopted parents.

Slipping away into sleep, questions, what if's, possibilities running around in her mind.
