Christmas music played throughout the car as you gently hummed along. Spencer lightly squeezed your hand as he drove, completely enamored by how cute you were when you embraced the holiday season.

"So", he asked as the song ended, "what is our plan for the tree this year?"

"Hmm", you thought as your smile grew. "I think we should get a really big one this year", you decided, raising your eyebrows. Spencer chuckled at your answer. "A nice wide, full tree", you emphasized.

"How big are we talking?", a bit of actual concern lacing his voice. Last year you had picked out a tree so big that you and Spencer couldn't carry it by yourselves, so you had to elicit Derek's help.

"Definitely big enough to take up half the living room", you amused. "Need to make sure it's big enough for our growing collection of ornaments", you winked. Spencer laughed again as he pulled into the parking lot of the tree farm.

"Well, just keep in mind we have to carry it up three flights of stairs", he laughed, placing a kiss on your cheek. You rolled your eyes, matching his smile.

"All part of the fun", you joked while getting out of the car. Spencer laced his hand with yours again as you walked towards the extensive rows of trees.

You had spent about an hour going through trees, none of them quite what you were imagining. Spencer stayed glued to your side, trying to warm himself from the cold winter air. If it were up to him he would just pick the first tree you guys saw, but he knew how much fun you had finding the 'perfect tree', and he would never pass up an opportunity to indulge in your endearing antics. As you were making your way through the rows of trees, you couldn't help but notice a family with a young daughter looking for their Christmas tree. She was sat upon her father's shoulders, and they were testing the heights of the trees to make sure she could put the tree topper on when lifted up by her parents. Your heart warmed at the sight of the happy family, and you smiled when her adorable laughter twirled around your ears. You couldn't help but think about having a child with Spencer and taking them to pick out a Christmas tree. Images of Spencer holding your child while they giggled swarmed your mind.

Spence noticed you fondly looking at the young family, and his heart swelled imagining what you were thinking about. There was nothing he wanted more than to start a family with you. He admired you for a moment longer before pulling you out of your daydream.

"Hey", he gently nudged your arm, causing you to abruptly turn towards him.

"What?", you inquired, him having startled you from your thoughts.

"You okay?", he asked, rubbing his thumb over the back of your hand. You stared into his kind eyes, not quite knowing what to say

"Uh, yeah. Yeah, I'm fine", you said. You turned towards the tree in front of you and giving it a quick glance. "This is the one", you concluded.

"Are you sure?", Spencer asked. It was a bit smaller than last year's, but it still towered over Spencer's head.

"Yes", you assured, "It's perfect". You turned back towards him and smiled. He nodded, looking into your eyes before leaning in and giving you a quick kiss. The warmth of his breath contrasting the bitter air sent shivers down your spine. He wrapped his arm around you as you went to pay for the tree.

On the way over, you passed the family again. The little girl was giggling, happy that they too had picked out their tree. Spencer smiled fondly at you as your gaze found its way back to the happy family. He brought your hand up to his mouth and placed a gentle kiss on your knuckles. You flashed him a smile and leaned further into his arms. Soon, Spencer thought, We'll be a family soon.
