Chapter 4- Mirror Twins

Amanda had officially been at the BAU for a little over a month. She had gotten close to both Derek and Garcia who loved the bubbly blonde and craved to know more about the mysterious girl. So far all they had gathered was that she was smart, went to MIT at some point before going to Caltech with Reid. They only knew that she went to Caltech at the same time as Reid because they had found one single news article that mentioned Reid as the head of the chess club while Amanda was the captain of the volleyball team.

So far, things had gotten worse with Aaron and Spencer. Elle had decided that there was something suspicious about the female Hotchner and refused to trust her or work with her, not that Hotch cared, he didn't want them getting attached. JJ still stuck to Spencer's opinion of Amanda that got worse the more jealous he got of her and Morgan. Gideon never showed emotion which left Amanda slightly outnumbered, but Morgan and Garcia almost made it worth it. Almost.

Amanda and Morgan were messing around at Amanda's desk when JJ told them they had a case. They were quick to get to the conference room, practically attached at the hip. JJ and Hotch explain that the daughter of an executive Assistant U.S. Attorney had been kidnapped. The team was quick to the SUVs and to drive to DC. Hotch sent a very reluctant Elle with Morgan and Amanda to the abduction site while he headed to the house with Reid and Gideon.

When they reach the site, the three of them notice a girl lying in the road. Morgan and Elle hang back to ask the Marshalls what's happening while Amanda approaches the girl. Once Morgan finds out that she's 'getting a feel for what happened to her sister' he stops Elle before she can go further. "What's up with you?"

"What are you talking about?" Elle demands, making Morgan roll his eyes.

"I'm talking about how you act around Amanda. You treat her like she's a dirty fed or something. She's on our side and she was detrimental in closing the case we worked on last week in Kentucky. Why are you being so hostile?"

"Why are you defending your girlfriend to me instead of her doing it herself? She's got you so wrapped around her finger you don't even see that there's something off about her. Do you know anything about her because I don't?  I tried to look her up in the system but all it says is that she's been here since she was 17 and she got into the BAU because of Director Sharp. It seems to me that she's into something and doesn't want any of us to know. Until she tells us what that is, I'm not going to trust her."

Morgan shakes his head as they approach Cheryl Davenport who was describing how her sister was taken. Elle checks the file and sees she's right. "I can feel my sister, not in the whole 'if she gets hurt I get hurt too' way. I just mean that I can feel when something's wrong and I'm telling you, she's alive," she insists upon seeing Morgan's disbelief at how she knew what she knew.

"I believe you," Amanda says, causing Cheryl to turn to her. "I have a twin brother. We aren't close and definitely not as close as you and Trish but when Sean's in danger, I can feel it," she reveals and Cheryl smiles at her gratefully, causing Amanda to return the gesture as she makes her way to Morgan.

"You don't really believe that do you?" He asks.

"Of course I do. One time, when we were 16, I was home for summer break and Sean told our mom that he was going to the movies with his friends. About 10 minutes after he left, I got a bad feeling so I got in my car and drove. I had no idea where I was going but I ended up at my old high school. Turns out, Sean had stood up to a bully and he challenged him to a fight at the school. Sean went because his friend that was being bullied was smaller than him. Turns out, they were going to jump him. It was six on one."

"What happened?"

"I got out of my car and made my way over to them. I had a bit of a...terrifying reputation in my town so three of them left upon seeing me and I beat the shit out of the other two before facing the bully and telling him that if he wanted to fight my brother that was fine but I sure as hell was going to make it fair. He peed himself and left without even touching my brother."
