Drag me down

Zayn had left a big hole with his departure and they all handled it differently. Harry and Niall were sad about it. Liam was also sad of course but he also felt the weight that was put on his shoulders. Zayn leaving meant that he had to take on even bigger responsibilities and it was slowly breaking him apart. He started drinking more often to be able to relax. Louis was angry. He felt abandoned.

One thing that had lightened up his mood tremendously was the fact that Modest finally had agreed to let him end his relationship with Eleanor. He and Harry had both been really surprised when Mr. Magee called to inform him that he no longer had to stunt date her. The news hit the papers the same way as their first concert without Zayn and they celebrated that night even if they both were sad about Zayn leaving. Finally, something good came their way. Modest would probably find a new way to make their lives miserable but they refused to think about that for now.

After a show in Jakarta, their label and management went public with Zayn's departure from the band. Their fans were devastated.

When they arrived in Johannesburg in South Africa they received a new song from their writers. They had a listen and tried to sing it.

Harry sang the first verse.

Louis and Harry ended the song in a call and response and Harry did some insane runs that made them all clap their hands.

"Great song!" Harry smiled.

"We're making a music video for this one and apparently our team is trying to get approval to shoot it at NASA." Liam informed them.

"No way! That's so cool!" Niall shouted excitedly.

"That is cool. Do you know someone else who would have thought that it would be really cool? Zayn." Louis said and left the room.

Harry got up to go after him. He caught up with him at the hotel bar where Louis was ordering a drink. Harry looked around to make sure that no one was listening in on the conversation they were about to have. The bar was pretty much empty considering it was only 2 o'clock.
"Hey, talk to me, Lou." He said softly and took a seat at the bar.

Louis sighed and paid for his drink before he took a seat next to him.
"I'm upset Haz. He just left. He didn't talk to me about it."

"I bet he tried to tell you how he felt?" Harry asked.

"Yeah, but I didn't think he was serious about it." Louis answered.

"We all miss him sweetie but we'll make it work without him. We have to." Harry tried to comfort.

"He was the one I could talk to. You know? My partner in crime. Whenever we smoked we talked about all the bullshit. He kept me sane." Louis said.

"You can talk to me love. You know that right?" Harry asked.

"Yeah, I know but it's not the same." Louis sighed and Harry understood.
