Finding You

Chapter 1

Mike's POV

"Mr Ketchum, your car has arrived. Please allow us to put your luggage in your car." The attendant asked.

"Yeah sure." Dad replied.

I was sitting in the lobby of the hotel, sticking my eyes on the phone, just scrolling down and down. Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind.

"Mike, your eyes will be damaged. Leave the phone now."

I lifted my head up and saw it was mom.

"Alright mom." I replied while keeping back my phone in my pocket.

"Where's your dad?" she asked.

"I don't know." I replied. As I replied, dad called us from the gate.

"Serena! Mike! We are now ready to go." He said.

"Alright Ash." Mom replied. She grabbed her handbag and started approaching him. I also grabbed by bag and started following them. As we went out of the hotel, I was said goodbye bye the hotel attendants. I made a small nod with a smile in reply and sat inside the car. Mom and dad took the front seat and thus we started leaving the hotel.

"So, Mike, how was this hotel?" dad asked while driving.

"It was great dad. I really liked our weekend holiday." I replied.

"Ah, nice." He said.

"Now Mike, once we get back home, prepare for tomorrow. You have school, right?" mom asked.

"Yeah mom." I replied. I bent my head on the window and started watching outside.

For the past 4 weekends, we are going out and staying in different places and enjoying our time. I don't know why dad is doing this. I never asked him or mom to do it, but still they say to spend their time with me. And to be honest, I am not saying no to these. I am really liking to spend my time with mom and dad. I am 17 years now, still I am liking to have fun with dad and mom. I guess, this fun will never end.

"Hey Mike, I think you and your class including Avery are visiting the science centre tomorrow. Right?" Dad asked.

"Yeah. Few days ago, a scientist made some kind of time machine or something, and he got a national award. I think it's some prototype so we all are visiting there." I replied.

"Wow, a time machine? Nice. What's the scientist name?" he asked.

"Um, I guess his name is Clemont." I replied.

"Wait, really?! Damn! He's surely did a great stuff." Dad said.

"Wait, you know him?" I asked with a little surprise on my face.

"Well, yeah. He's my childhood friend. Even your mom and Avery's parents know him." He replied. My mouth was just opened with surprise. I really had no idea about this thing.

"Wow dad." I said.

"Yeah, right Serena? It's been years since we have met." He said.

"Yeah. I guess we last met 2 years ago along with Dawn and Gary." Mom replied.

"Ah, I remember that day." He said. Damn I have to accept, dad and mom had some great childhood at their time.

"Alright everyone, be in one line and enter the bus one by one." The teacher said. It was the next day. We all were now heading to the science centre. I entered the bus and took the window in the middle row, with a vacant seat along me. My friends Rick and Hela entered the bus together and spot me. They both approached me. Rick was about to sit, but then stopped by Hela.

"Stop there, Rick. I am goanna sit there." She said.

"What do you mean? He's my best friend. I am goanna sit here." Rick replied.

"He's also a friend of mine. So, I can also sit here." Hela replied.

"Hey you both calm down. Anybody of you can sit here." I said, with an uneasy smile. Suddenly, a familiar voice out of nowhere.

"That's not needed Mike."

Suddenly, someone from behind of Rick and Hela came and sat beside me.

"Avery?" I said with a little confusion, but with a small smile.

"Yeah, is there any problem with I sit here?" she asked.

"Never." I said, to which she makes a cute smile. Rick and Hela sighed.

"Why don't you both date each other now?" Rick asked.

"Hmm, nice question." Avery said.

"I wish." I whispered, which Avery hears and asks," Is it a confession?"

"Kind of." I replied, to which she laughs. Well, the truth is that we are secretly dating for the past year. I guess, people are now realizing this, so confessions for her and me are becoming less now. Still, am glad to have a girlfriend like Avery. She's the daughter of mom and dad's friends Gary and Dawn, and we both know each other since childhood and I guess, from that time only we started liking each other.

"Everyone, take your seats fast! We are about to leave." The teacher said.

"TAKEN!" me and Avery said together. Soon the bus started leaving and we were soon on our way to the Science centre.

"So, Mike, mom told me you went to a new place this weekend." Avery said.

"Yeah, new weekend, new place to visit." I replied.

"Wow, I feel jealous of you now. Dad barely takes me and mom out during weekends." She said.

"Well, to be honest, I never asked dad or mom to take me out every weekend or in every holiday. They just say me that we are going somewhere so tag along. And, I like it." I replied.

"That's the most expected thing from you. Being happy for what it happening in the present." She said, to which I made a smile. Soon we reached the science centre.

"Alright everyone, be in line. We will be soon entering the main centre. Remember to behave properly when you meet the scientists." The teacher said.

"Alright!" everyone said in union. We all made a single line and started entering the building. As I entered, the scene in the building was totally unexpected. Almost 100 scientists we working and studying. Damn, this is what to expect from a place full of science. Suddenly, a voice came from behind.

"Everyone enjoying, I see."

We all turned around and saw a tall person with specs and lab coat approaching.

"Everyone, greet one of the greatest scientists of the country, Dr Clemont!" the teacher said.

"Hello sir! It's nice to meet you!" we all said in union.

"Ah, nice to meet you too, new generation kids! My name is Clemont and welcome to the Science centre. Today, you all will be seeing the historic thing that was ever created. A creation which can affect the time and space of the universe. In simple language, you can call it a 'Time Machine'." He said.

Ah, this will be an interesting tour.
