Should've kept my mouth shut

I should've kept my mouth shut.

Now I’m stuck in a rut.

Now he will be different

I just caused an argument

I should’ve kept my mouth shut

I should’ve acted like I was fine

Instead of showing signs.

I should’ve kept my mouth shut

I mess everything up

Now he isn’t replying

And I’m here crying

I should’ve kept my mouth shut

Why didn’t I just leave it alone.

I should have known

That he would get offended

He took it wrong, it was unintended.

I should’ve kept my mouth shut

Now I’m overthinking

This was only the beginning.

This will be another sleepless night

A constant battle with myself, another fight

I should’ve kept my mouth shut

For my words were heard

But he took it the wrong way,

Now my mind is blurred

I should’ve kept my mouth shut

But you should’ve thought

Before you jumped to conclusions

Causing major confusion

I should’ve kept my mouth shut

And you should’ve been nicer

For now my mind is in the slicer

You took it the wrong way

Making tomorrow an unbearable day

I should’ve kept my mouth shut,

But you shouldn’t have been such a mutt.
