Escaping Mortality

My favorite place

Give me some space

Because sitting here

I have no fears

Trees surrounding my existence

Coming here for distance

No I don’t need your assistance

This is where I go for coexistence

High up in the sky

Birds catching my eye

The beauty and wind

My lips thinned

Into a smile

This is my kinda style

Laying back on a trusting branch

Knowing I am fulfilled

My senses were thrilled

For my stress was relieved

This sight far from the ordinary

It was beautiful, almost imaginary

Time seemed to come to a stop

The things I see making my jaw drop

Being in the trees made me feel alive

There was no need to strive

The emptiness I felt before I came

Drifts away leaving me with no shame

This was my escape from reality

Here I felt immortality
