Hope's P.O.V.

After spending a couple of hours at the hospital with Astrid, my mother and I head over to Hiccup's place to get Toothless. We don't know when Astrid will be out of the hospital or when we'll find Hiccup. Because of that, Toothless would end up being by himself for who knows how long with no one to feed him. So, we decided we'd bring him home and let him play with Angel in the meantime.

My mother pulls into the parking lot and we both step out moments after. We both head inside and into the elevator to go up to the floor of Hiccups's apartment. It doesn't take us long to get there, maybe a minute at most. The doors open quickly and my mother and I step out and head straight for Hiccup's door.

I take the spare key my brother gave me when he first moved in and unlock the door. Hiccup and I have always been close, from the moment I was born really. He'd take care of me whenever our parents were gone as well as play with me. He's the greatest big brother I've ever had, and I wouldn't dare ask for another one. He gave me the key knowing there would be days when I'd want to come over and say hi. Not having him at home anymore makes me miss him a lot, so that's when the key comes in handy.

I unlock the door and then push it open to be created by a green-eyed black lab jumping around in excitement. I smiles and step inside before kneeling down, allowing him to give me plenty of licks. He even jumps up and throws his front legs over my shoulders as if to give me a hug. I hug him back even though almost half of his body is over me, and give him a scratch behind the ears.

Hugs was one of the first things Hiccup taught Toothless. He doesn't do it much to Hiccup but he loves doing it to me. I personally don't mind because it means I get some puppy love! And I love puppy love!

He licks my face a couple of times before jumping down and running around in circles. I smile at his movements and go to grab his leash, which he gets really thrilled about.

"You want to come over and play with Angel?" I ask him.

He barks happily and sits with his wagging butt and tail as I hook him up. I chuckle at his excitement and grab his go bag. Don't ask me why, but Hiccup always has a go bag for Toothless. Though I will admit it won't be enough for his time with us.

"I'll take him outside and into the car, go ahead and grab the things he needs." My mother takes Toothless's leash out of my hand as she speaks.

I nod and give Toothless a pet. "Alright, I shouldn't take long."

She nods before walking with Toothless out of the apartment. I watch her for a moment before going around and grabbing Toothless's stuff. Things like his food, some treats, even a few toys, and lets not forget his favorite blanket. I never knew he had a favorite blanket till I saw him panic without it. Hiccup says it helps keep him calm whenever he's not around, especially for long periods of time.

As I grab some of Toothless's stuff, I decide to go upstairs and grab a few things for Astrid. I know she's going to be in the hospital for awhile, but I figured having some personal items with her might help. I know it helped me when I managed to break my arm from a set of monkey bars.

I walk past my old room and decide to stop and take a look. I carefully open the door and peak inside to see it still decorated for their unborn child. I frown a bit as I remember the song Hiccup sang in memory of it. I can only imagine all the things they went through when they found out the news. From some experience, I know what it's like to lose a child. Even though the child wasn't mine, it was my mother's. They would've been my older brother, but sadly he never got to join us.

I look to the room for one last minute before stepping out and closing the door. I then continue to make my way toward Hiccup and Astrid's bedroom and open the door. The room is as clean as ever, with the bed made and everything in its proper place. I walk in to see Hiccup's sketches on the wall along with a few I've done for them. I smile a bit as I look around the room for something to bring to Astrid.
