Hunter Parrish or me in chemistry? the world may never know

Chapter 51

"That was a mistake," I pant, referring to the very heated make out session we just shared.

Kyle laughs in amusement as he backs away from me and the wall. "You just keep on feeding yourself those lies."

"I meant it," I mumble and readjust my shirt. "This doesn't change anything between us."

"You wouldn't have kissed me if-"

"You're really hot, okay? I'm a hormonal girl who is really attracted to attractive boys in tuxedos!" I cry, quickly picking up my bag and heading for the door.

Kyle stops me before I can leave by standing in front of the doorway. "You have to know I'm not going to stop trying to get you back until I do."

"Until you leave tomorrow?" I challenge, my voice raising slightly. "You can't change my mind in one day."

He sighs in defeat and lets me leave. I feel like a part of myself is still with him, as if it'll always be with him.

"Oh my gosh," Emerson whispers as I meet up with her, "you did not just make out with Kyle!"

"I didn't," I deny and whack her lightly. "Keep your voice down by the way."

"I can't believe you..." she trails off with a huge smile on her face. "Was it like really hot?"

"Em!" I groan in embarrassment. "I'm not proud of what I did."

She shakes her head, still smiling smugly. "I don't know about you, but I thought Kyle looked sexy as fu-"

"You have a boyfriend!" I laugh and slap her arm gently.

"That doesn't mean I can't admire a hot boy from afar," she rationalizes.

"I don't think I ever agreed to that," Trent says as he joins the conversation, poking Emerson's nose.

She kisses him shortly before smiling innocently. They're so cute. And I know that Kyle and I were cute but...I've been through hell and back again and again because of him.

The only people still at the hospital were my dad, Luke, Kyle, Emerson, and Trent. The rest of the prom goers left to go to bed considering it was now practically morning and Laura took Frankie home.

I was going to drive home with my father, but my 'friends' forced me into Luke's car. Emerson would've gone with me and my dad; however, she decided that spending today with Trent who was hanging out with his friends would be more suitable.

"I just want to go home and sleep," I whine as I sit in the backseat, smushed between Trent and Emerson.

"You can sleep at my place," Luke promises.

I roll my eyes. "I won't get any sleep if you guys are all together. You're the noisiest damn people I know."

They all laugh at my misfortune as we pull up to the mansion. Kyle waits for me to get out of the car to walk with me to the house.

His hands find my hips as he slowly backs us up against the car. He brushes his lips against mine in a teasing way.
"So, m'lady, having any second thoughts about taking me back?"

I roll my eyes, pressing my hands against his chest. "No comment."

He laughs, backing away from me. "What does that even mean?"

I shrug and skip back into the house. Luke is taking out everything in the refrigerator since the two geniuses didn't think to clean it out before leaving for California. Emerson and Trent are in the living room, fighting over the remote.
