Chapter 15

"Raise your right hand," Luke says in a monotoned voice.

We're all in Luke's basement right now. Me, Kyle, Luke, and Trent. Kyle and I are sitting on bean bags and Trent is standing next to Luke, who is currently standing at the bar wearing a black robe like a judge.

It's the morning after we had to pick up Kyle from Aaron's. Right when we got home, Kyle passed out on the couch and Luke let me stay on the other couch. Trent took care of Frankie, which he always seems to be doing, and then I called him to come over to talk with Luke.

"I'm not going to raise my hand for this stupid idea," Trent scoffs. "I won't tell anyone about Ky-"

I throw a pillow at his head which affectively shuts him up. Kyle gives me a high-five and that earns him the pillow to his face from Luke, who is taking this whole thing a lot more serious than everyone else.

"Bitch," Kyle mutters.

"Could you all stop being children?" Luke yells, his face red and vein popping out.

It's really hard to take him serious when he's wearing that robe, and let's not forget the gavel he's holding in his hand.

Clearly Kyle found it just as funny, laughing his head like a maniac. Luke drops his head to the countertop of the bar and covers his head with his hands. Trent tries his best to hold in a laugh, which is best considering Luke has quite the temper.

"Cassie, just please take yourself and the douchebag upstairs," Luke orders in a sigh.

"Right, Cass, the real men have business to take care of," Kyle snickers and stands from his chair, sticking his hand out to help me.

Luke flips off Kyle before turning to Trent and saying, "repeat after me: I, Trent Teal, solemnly swear to never ever tell a soul about Kyle Blackburn..."

His voice becomes harder to hear as Kyle and I start heading upstairs. Once we reach the top, Kyle grabs my hand and runs us over to the doors that lead to the balcony. He pushes them open with his free hand, turning back to look at me with a smile.

"The view is sort of insane," Kyle says as we step onto the wooden balcony.

It's hugely spaced out, probably able to fit both mine and Frankie's room. There's a few pieces of patio furniture, but nothing too extreme.

He wasn't lying when he said the view was insane. It overlooked the ocean, it's crystal waters crashing at the shore. There weren't any trees blocking the way, a clear view. Breathtaking.

With my hand laced in his, Kyle walks us to the edge where there's only metal bars caging us in. He sits down, sticking his feet through the spaces between the bars. He yanks my arm to get me to sit next to him, only I don't stick my feet through the bars.

"Oh, live a little!" he laughs and rams his shoulder into mine playfully.

I roll my eyes, caving in and sticking my feet in the spaces. Kyle's arm drapes around my shoulder and he tugs me a little closer. He rubs my arm with the tips of his fingers as his head rests on top of my own.

"Kyle?" My voice is almost too soft, the wind from the water drowning the sound. "Do you, um, do you remember what you said last night?"

It's been bothering me since he said it in the car. I like him, obviously, and him saying that he wanted to kiss me for the second time made me feel like he likes me too. It's not only what he said yesterday though, he also always finds a way to touch me, like right now.

My heart hasn't had a second to relax.

"Probably a lot of shit that I didn't mean," he says and kisses the side of my head.
